CLIFFORD, E. ALENE CULBERSON A devoted helpmate, wife and delightfully loving Mother passed away peacefully in her home of 54 years in the warm embrace of her loving family December 07, 2012. Alene goes to join her beloved husband of 62 years, Harry Jerome Clifford (1913-2005). Alene was born in Choctaw County, Oklahoma on December 14, 1917 the firstborn to her joyful parents, Robert Williams Culberson (1885-1958) and Ollie D. Smith (1895-1982). Alene grew up in Fabens, TX, on a cotton farm. Alene was a switchboard operator then moved to accounting for Lemuel Riley Allison of Tenorio farms. Later Alene landed another accounting position in El Paso. While on a shopping excursion with her parents, Alene took a shine to Harry J. Clifford and he knew he had met the love of his life. All was going happily along until WWII came sweeping by. She took the train to San Francisco to say goodbye to Lieutenant Harry before he shipped out for the Pacific Theater. Alene married Captain Harry in Tennessee!! Alene and Harry moved with their young family along the Rio Grande Valley to Albuquerque in 1950 by way of Texas, Mexico and Santa Fe. Alene took in a few bookkeeping accounts, loved her husband, lovingly raised her children, and visited with her extended family and friends up and down the valley and beyond. Alene was on the board of the Seventh Day Adventist church and school for many years in Albuquerque. Alene left behind upon her departure, Harry and wife, Shirley, Plato, James, Tricia Alene 'Tachia' and husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Judy, Harry 'Cliff', Marisa, Aidan and Micaela; sisters, Robbie and Mary; numerous loving family and friends all of which she will terribly miss as they will terribly miss Alene. I am sure Mom and Dad are having a grand time holding each other and catching up. Along with all those that went before in the LORD including Alene's loving siblings, James, Oliver, Fern, and Annabelle. Alene was a woman of Wisdom, Kindness, Intelligence and Strength. Our Mama was a Strong Beautiful Woman, the Matriarch of a large extended family. We will all miss her presence in our lives. We the living will always relish our fondest memories and cherish our remembrances of MOM. WE MISS YOU and cannot wait to see you again in the life everlasting. WE LOVE YOU. Special Blessings to Presbyterian Home Hospice for their caring support of Alene and family in the last hand full of days.
