DOURTE, HELEN MARGARET Age 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012. She was born in Gilman, WI on September 29, 1921 to Alois and Margaret (Fleischman) Bauer. Her father was Mayor of Thorp, WI where he owned a dime store that Helen worked in as a young girl. Helen proudly served her country in the Marine Corps during World War II. She loved to crochet and gave over fifty afghans to others. Helen was blessed with good health most of her life; she was able to enjoy life, appreciate the beauty of roses and do some traveling. Most of all, Helen loved her family and devoted herself to being there for them. She was a living definition of a "homemaker". She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Granville Dourte in 2008 and brother Lawrence Bauer. Helen is survived by her children, Margaret Saunders and husband, Leigh, Patricia Bruner and husband Will, Richard Dourte and wife Christine, Kathleen Arvizu; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her brother Richard Bauer and wife Jean. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 9:30 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE with Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque.
