VILLANUEVA, MICHAEL ANTHONY (MIKE) age 61, born September 11, 1951 passed away October 31, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM. Mike, a lifelong Albuquerque resident, was a very skilled and accomplished jeweler and silversmith for over 40 years. His works have adorned many throughout New Mexico, the U.S. and abroad. In 1984 he crafted a silver staff that was presented to Pope Paul II in Rome. Mike was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He always welcomed others to join him. Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Karen Villanueva; daughter, Natalie Dominguez; his mother, Stella R. Buster; one sister, Patricia L. Silva and three brothers, Reuben Villanueva and wife Teresa, Dennis C. Villanueva and wife Rita and David L. Villanueva and wife Theresa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jason Villanueva. Mike possessed a very energetic and outgoing personality and was loved and admired by many. He will be deeply missed but his spirit will continue to live in the hearts and souls of all those he touched.
