SMITH, LEON D. Age 92, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marie E. Smith of Albuquerque, NM; son, Stephen and wife, Bjorg Austrheim-Smith of Newcastle, CA; son, Bradley and wife, Anita Smith of Edgewood, NM; son, Philip and wife, Kelly Smith of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren and five great-grandchild- ren. He had a passion for fine food and wine and enjoyed sharing it with his family and his many friends. Until his death, Leon was a dedicated patriot and would share his stories from the beginning of the nuclear age to all who would listen - there was never a shortage of people wanting to hear him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at 2:00 pm at French - Lomas followed by a reception, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. He will be laid to rest privately at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
