HARTZELL, CARL JERRY Age 83, resident of Albuquerque for 53 years and a member of the Masonic lodge, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012. Carl is survived by his daughter, Geri Lynn Hartzell, of Albuquerque; his son, Terry Lee Hartzell, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; and his two granddaughters, Jayme Lynn Eskue, of Sewickley, Pa.; and Genifer Lee Eskue, of Albuquerque. His two brothers, Rex Allen Hartzell of Topeka, Kan., and Leonard Lee Hartzell of Pine Groove, Calif., and his sister, Martha Ellen Bonham, of Sutter Creek, Calif. also survive him. His parents, Carl Leonard Hartzell and Emily Louise Oliver, his stepfather, Glenn Oliver, his wife, Pauline Rosette Hartzell, and his infant son, Carl David Hartzell, preceded Carl in death. After graduating from Sutter Creek High School in California, Carl was drafted to the 7th Division of the United States Army and served in Germany. He settled in Albuquerque to raise his children with his wife. Carl worked at Montgomery Wards for more than 30 years, including his time as manager of the Automotive Department. Carl was a Mason for over 20 years as a member of Hiram 13 Blue Lodge. Carl enjoyed sharing stories of his younger years with friends and family. The viewing is Thursday, October 18, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Boulevard., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 505 843-6333.
