CHAVEZ -- ALFONSO "AL" Age 83, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Friday, August 10, 2012. He was born in Santa Rosa, NM to Carlos and Maria. Al loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers George and Charlie Chavez. Alfonso is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Vessie; sons, Arthur Chavez and wife Nina M., Gregory P. Salazar and wife Tanya, Joseph Salazar and wife Angelina; daughter Cora Arder; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Cecilia Padilla; brothers Lino Chavez, Joe Chavez; and numerous extended family and friends. A Rosary will be recited at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:30 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am; Inurnment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 pm; Military Honors by American Legion Post 69.
