Ed married Lucy Suarez in San Diego, California and had three sons, Anthony Garcia, Edward "Teddy" Garcia, and Reuben Garcia, all of California. In 2010, Ed and Shirley moved to Roswell. Ed was a member of Grace Community Church of Roswell and was to be trained for one of their ministries. Ed was a life-long learner. As a young man, his father taught him to be a master painter and he used those skills all throughout his life. After returning to New Mexico, he went into sales and worked as a representative for Mobile Medical & Safety which later became Cintas. He offered assistance, inspiration and encouragement to people he met, especially the less-fortunate and the young people, to always pursue their dreams. Realizing that education, love, and inspiration were keys to young people's successes, his dream was to be financially successful enough to build and operate a facility for young people to go for inspiration and fellowship.
