LUNA -- GABRIEL Age 84, of Pajarito, New Mexico passed away May 4, 2012 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gabriel was born November 22, 1927 in Willard, NM to Federico and Maria Reyes (Alderete) Luna. He married Maria Louisa Garcia on June 25, 1951; she preceded him in death in 1990. Together they lovingly raised three children, Anthony Richard, Martin Raymond, and Deborah Rufina. Gabriel served in the Army and retired after 39 years of civil service. He was a member of American Legion Post 22 of Estancia. He was a member of Our Lady of Ascension Catholic Church in Albuquerque and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard. Gabriel was preceded in death by his father, Federico Luna; mother, Maria Reyes; wife Louisa Luna; daughter, Theresa Elena Luna; brothers, Mateo Luna, Tony Luna, Melchor Luna and Andelicio Luna. He is survived by his sons, Anthony Richard Luna of Denver, CO; Martin Raymond Luna and wife Peggy of Albuquerque; daughter, Deborah Rufina Thompson and husband Kristian of Rio Rancho; sisters, Delfina Luna, Canda Chavez and Molly Padilla; eight grandchildren, Yvonne, Brandi, Lori, Anthony, Gabriel, Danae, Joslyn and Martin; and seven great-grandchildren, Liryc, Justin, Ariyan, Anthony, Oryan, Gabriel and Easton. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 6:00pm followed by the Rosary recited at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Thursday, May 10, 2012 also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Rev. Fr. Fernando Sainz will officiate. Pallbearers will be Sammy Chavez, Joseph Luna, Anthony Luna, Gabriel Luna, Randy Gurule, and Martin Luna. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adrian Padilla, Trey Devich and Bo Shive. Gabriel will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Willard, NM.
