ALTAMIRANO -- LUCILE Died April 24, 2012 at the age of 85. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Manuel Altamirano; their son, Mark and his wife, Cecelia, of San Francisco, CA and their son, Jim and his wife, Kelly, of Albuquerque; their grandchildren, Tom, James, Sophia and Arlo: and her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Mal Mellington of Virginia. Lucile graduated from the University of Maryland and joined the US Armed Services as a physical therapist. While stationed at Ft. Bening, she met and married Dr. Altamirano. Lucile left her career in the army to raise her family. They moved to Albuquerque in 1954 and called it home ever after. Lucy loved tennis, skiing, and swimming; she traveled extensively and had a passion for reading and opera. Her friends and family will miss her humor and her generosity. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will follow.

Mr. Armijo is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-years, Stella; sons, John Armijo and wife, Zona, and Richard Armijo; sister, Evelyn Carter; grandchildren, Richard Jacob, Heather Marie, and Michael V.P. BACA -- ERNEST JOSE BACA II "JOSE" Was born November 19, 1985. He passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the age of 26. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Jose was a long-time graffiti artist. He will be remembered as a loving son, grandson, big brother, father and friend. Jose will be greatly missed by all who loved him. BAKER -- JOHNNY ARCHIE 1962-2012 A resident of Los Lunas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 6, at the age of 50. Johnny was born April 21, 1962 in Belen, NM where he grew up. Johnny married the love of his life, Vicky Johnson Baker, July 16, 1983. The two of them made their home in Los Lunas where they raised their three sons. Johnny was a fun loving, easy going, and family oriented man. He always liked to tell a good joke. Johnny was a man of great faith and loved the Lord with all his heart. He had many pastimes which included, reconnecting with high school friends and family on Facebook, collecting antiques and spending weekends at his cabin in the Sherwood Forest. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew and were touched by him. Johnny was preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" Baker; his mother Orpha June Baker; and father-in-law Gary Johnson. CAMPBELL -- HERBERT MAXWELL II (HERB) A resident of Albuquerque since 1959, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 4, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. He was 68. He was born February 10, 1944, in Selfridge Field, Michigan, to Max and Martha Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sue; daughter Sherry Green (Marshall) and grandson Sam of Gilbert, Arizona; son Brett of Albuquerque; sisters Judy Stoughton (Chuck) of Denton, Texas, and Susan Badger (Al) of Durango, Colorado; brother Jim of Oceanside, California; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and their families. He graduated from Sandia High School in 1961 and attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from UNM Law School in 1967. Herb was an avid golfer, skier, and reader. He enjoyed all kinds of music; fishing and eating at Red Lobster with his grandson Sam; and lively political and philosophical discussions with anyone willing to participate. He had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by family and friends who knew and loved him. He was proud of being a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. His remains were cared for by Daniels Family Funeral Services, with his wishes to be cremated. CLICKNER -- REGINA H. Age 91, of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Robert E. Clickner. She is survived by their children, Robert P. Clickner (Linda) of Tallahassee, FL, Patricia Clickner of Rio Rancho, Daniel Clickner (Susan) of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Neil Culver, Jr., Kimberly McClain, Jason Culver, Robert V. Clickner, Brenna Wolf, Ben Wolf, Paul Clickner, and Miriam Clickner; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Regina was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 21, 1920. She met Robert early in 1942; they were married on September 5, 1942. After Robert retired from the New York City Fire Department in 1974 they moved to Rio Rancho, where they became avid golfers and square dancers. Regina enjoyed her social life at their country club and regularly played bridge. She had a long and wonderful life and was very active for all but the last few months. She and Robert loved each other more than anything and were inseparable until his death in 2005. They were an inspiring example of a loving couple in a life-long marriage. She is now with God and reunited with her husband. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. DENIS -- LOUIS P. "BUD" Age 84, a longtime resident of Albuquerque passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Mark Denis and wife, Denise, Jeanette Gray, and Connie White; grandchildren, Marianne, Melissa, Matt, Kevin, Ryan, and Craig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Venie Denis, and his brother, Edward Denis. Louis served our country in the United States Army. He graduated from the University of Arizona, and worked for the US Geological Survey for 35 years. He loved his family, bowling, baseball, and going to Hawley Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Victor Dominguez; and her son Lawrence Dominguez. She is survived by seven sons and six daughters, Ella Martinez and husband Manuel, David Dominguez, Mario Dominguez and wife Debbie, Tommy Dominguez, Pauline Gurule and husband Wally, Robert Dominguez, Carla Trujillo and husband Pat, Beatrice Carmona and husband Juan, Leonard Dominguez and wife Louise, Paul Dominguez and wife Selene, Dina Tenorio and husband Jimmy, Sammy Dominguez, and Camilla Trujillo and Alejandro. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. IDEUS -- HAROLD W. Beloved husband, father, brother, friend, Harold W. Ideus, passed away on May 5, 2012, after a brief and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born in Victoria, Texas, on November 25, 1947, he was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Evelyn Ideus, as well as his daughter Amy. Known as Tex by many of his friends, he was a consummate storyteller who was often characterized by his uniquely Harold laugh that cracked even the sternest senses of humor. His heart was as big as his beloved home state of Texas. After graduating from Victoria High School, he joined the Air Force. During his service, he met his wife and best friend of 43 years, Susan Myers of Albuquerque. After serving in Vietnam he entered civilian life and lived in Missouri, New Mexico, and Texas before retiring in Las Cruces, NM. His tireless work ethic, endless compassion, and deep faith shaped many young lives, especially during his time at Sacramento Methodist Assembly. Harold is already sorely missed by his wife Susan; daughter Becca and son-in-law Nathan Taylor; daughter Johanna Ideus; stepmother Janice Ideus; siblings and their families: Robert and Rosalyn Ideus, John and Dette Ideus, LaNell Moore, Jim and Pam Borchert, Heath and Tammy Borchert, Joe Borchert, and Clayne Ideus; brother-in-law Ken Myers, wife Barb, and family; brother-in-law Jim Myers; uncle Leslie Fuhrman and extended family; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and countless friends and colleagues. KOTSCHWAR -- EDNA Age 85, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012. She is survived by son, Ron Kotschwar and wife, Gloria of Albuquerque; son, Bruce Kotschwar of Manzano; grandchildren, Jeff and wife, Tanya, Maggie and husband, Justin, Ty, Krystl and husband, Brian, and Brianne; great-grandchildren, Dustin and Elizabeth; sisters, Leona Greenlee, Beverly Johnson and Willa Mortimore; and brother, Chuck Arent. LOPEZ -- SOCORRO M. Age 89, Beloved mother and grandmother was called to the Lord's side on May, 5, 2012. She was born on July 3, 1922 at home in the small town of Rowe NM and lived all of her adult life in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lopez of Santa Fe, NM; son, James J. Lopez of San Jose, CA; sisters Aurella Bustos and Piedad Padilla. She is survived by her son Frank Lopez; daughter Effie Ortiz, daughter Barbara Valencia; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson Justin. Socorro was a devout Catholic who enjoyed life to the best of her abilities. As a stay-at-home grandmother she provided generations of family with security and tireless sacrifice. She gave and taught all of us empathy, compassion, and love. Last but not least, she also blessed us with the joy of a warm, made-from-scratch, tortilla. Socorro enjoyed a life, always surrounded and loved by generations of her family. We all got to see a side of her that was often ornery and mischievous but sometimes, when she sat pensive and quiet, her beautiful wrinkled face held all the vulnerable innocence of a young child. LUNA -- GABRIEL Age 84, of Pajarito, New Mexico passed away May 4, 2012 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gabriel was born November 22, 1927 in Willard, NM to Federico and Maria Reyes (Alderete) Luna. He married Maria Louisa Garcia on June 25, 1951; she preceded him in death in 1990. Together they lovingly raised three children, Anthony Richard, Martin Raymond, and Deborah Rufina. Gabriel served in the Army and retired after 39 years of civil service. He was a member of American Legion Post 22 of Estancia. He was a member of Our Lady of Ascension Catholic Church in Albuquerque and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard. Gabriel was preceded in death by his father, Federico Luna; mother, Maria Reyes; wife Louisa Luna; daughter, Theresa Elena Luna; brothers, Mateo Luna, Tony Luna, Melchor Luna and Andelicio Luna. MONTANO -- JUAN JOSE SR. Age 87, born and raised in Las Vegas, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Mr. Montano is survived by his sister, Della Ruiz; children, Christine Raymond and husband, Bobby, Erlinda Gulley, Juan J. MONTOYA -- DORELLA LORETTA Beloved mother, nana, sister, and friend triumphed over her suffering and went home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 6, 2012. O'CONNOR -- ROSEMARY HUGHES A 66-year resident of Los Alamos, passed away May 1, 2012. Born on December 11, 1919 in Boston, Massachusetts to Thomas Edward and Rose Lennon Hughes, Rosemary was the oldest of four sisters. Early in life she developed avid interests in classical music and swimming, both of which became lifelong passions. Family and friends universally described her as joyful, unsinkable, and with a zeal for life that took her on travels across the world and made everyday tasks part of a grand adventure. Rosemary began playing the violin at the age of 5 and developed her skills in the Young Musicians Concert Orchestra of Boston and the New England Conservatory of Music. Upon arriving in Los Alamos she joined a string quartet and was a founding member of the Los Alamos Sinfonietta, now known as the Los Alamos Symphony. For over 25 years Rosemary taught swimming at all levels including water safety instructor training. She earned her CPR certificate and became the first person in Los Alamos certified to teach CPR. In 1960, Rosemary went to work for PHERMEX at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. She enjoyed a 33-year career at LANL including her work in digitizing the Zapruder film. Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Francis O'Connor, and is survived by her four children: Leonard C. O'Connor and his wife, Lucia-Misa O'Connor, of Albuquerque, Thomas E. O'Connor and his wife, Carol Redman, of Santa Fe, E. Ted O'Connor of Los Alamos, Rosemary Vigil and her husband, Claudio Vigil, of Corrales; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, May 17 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. A reception will follow the Mass. Interment will be private. RHODES -- ALLEN N. "RED" "MICKEY" Of Mays Landing, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2012. Born in Philadelphia, to the late Edward and Grayce Rhodes, the oldest of three children, he was raised in Mays Landing. He served honorably in the United States Army for 27 years. During his service in the Army he was stationed at the Berlin Wall, Korea, and Turkey. After his active service in the army he joined the Air National Guard and worked as a Fireman in Albuquerque. While in Albuquerque he earned his Bachelor's Degree. He returned to Mays Landing in 1987. He worked for the Hamilton Twp. Public Works Department and continued his work with the Air National Guard. He spent most of his life serving veterans. He was a member of VFW Post 220 in Mays Landing where he served as Commander and Quartermaster. He was also a District 16 Commander for the VFW, Editor the VFW State Newspaper, Public Relations Chairman for the VFW, and photographer for the Southern Region of New Jersey. He was a member of the Military Order of the Cooties of New Jersey and Honor Degree of the VFW. He served as Junior Vice Commander, Senior Vice Commander, and Grand Commander of the Cooties (State Division). He also started Pup Tent 22 in Mays Landing. He is a life member of the American Legion Post 254 in Mays Landing and Adjutant of the Atlantic County American Legion. He served as President of the Vietnam Veterans of American, Chapter 825 in Mays Landing. This year he was appointed as Chairman of the Hamilton Township Veterans Advisory Board. He was instrumental in helping to provide Military Honors at the funerals of many veterans in the Mays Landing area. Allen was predeceased by his brother Patrick and daughter Diana Habing. Allen is survived by his wife Audrey (nee: Youmans); his children: Henrietta Barreras, Denise Feery, Patrick Rhodes, and Dwayne Rhodes; stepdaughters: Cindy Frankhouse, Linda Devers of New Mexico, Iris Johnson of Indiana, Sandra Powell, Angela DeCastro and Donna Moffitt of Middle Township; stepsons: Richard Patterson of New Mexico, Bruce Moffitt, and Guy Moffitt III of Florida; and his sister Joyce Fong, of CT. STRAWDERMAN -- LEONARD "LEN" 1931-2012 Age 81, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012. Len was born in Nevada, Missouri. Growing up in Wichita, Kansas Len developed a life-long love of airplanes and flying. He served four years in the Air Force and for part of that time was stationed on Iwo Jima. Len studied engineering at University of Wichita. Len did design work for Coleman Company in Wichita. He moved his family to Albuquerque, NM in 1958 and began work at Sandia Corporation. After retirement from Sandia, he also worked for the Dale Bellamah Corporation in planning and design and the University of New Mexico Engineering Department. Through the years Len was active in all aspects of the real estate business, as a realtor, broker, contractor and drafter. He worked from home doing house plans for local builders up to his 80th birthday. In his personal life, Len married Patricia Goben in 1953. Pat and Len had a son, Gary Strawderman in 1958. Len passed his love of flying on to Gary who is a pilot and FAA controller. Len married Carol Wright on January 1, 1978. After a short stint in Lubbock where Carol taught at Texas Tech, they returned to NM. Len and Carol designed and built their dream house in Los Lunas. Len and Carol were members of Peralta Methodist Church. He loved dogs and duck hunting. When his favorite dog, Zack, was too old to hunt, Len hung up his shotgun as well. Len enjoyed motorcycles and recently had a Honda Goldwing modified into a trike. Only three years ago he and Gary rode to Washington State and back. He was active in the Goldwing Road Riders Association. Recently Len was delighted by the arrival of grand-baby Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved wife of 27 years, Carol Strawderman. Len is survived by his son, Gary; grandson, Gavin Lee; two step-daughters, Barbara Wright and Rebecca Beeson and husband, Tom; two grandchildren, Noah and Cheyanna; step-son, David Wright and wife, Jane; and friend, Sallie Van Curan who has been a great comfort to Len since Carol's passing. TARTER -- GWENDEAN 1925 ~ 2012 Longtime resident of Albuquerque, most recently of Utah, passed away surrounded by her family on May 2, 2012, due to a stroke. After high school, Gwen moved to Albuquerque from her home town of Manassa, Colorado, where she later met and married Kenneth Tarter. A homemaker by choice, Gwen later became a medical transcriber and continued to transcribe until she was 84. Her family brought her great joy. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Orlan) Macdonald, Karolyn (Robin) Kartchner, and Coleen Fossie, all of Utah; 12 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
