DODSON -- BERNIECE ALICE FURNISH A resident of Tucumcari, NM passed away on May 2, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Champaign County, Illinois on May 27, 1927. Berniece was preceded in death by husband, Jerry L. Dodson Sr; sons, David A. Dodson and Christopher V. Dodson; sisters Margaret Hayes and Joanie Furnish. She is survived by sons Jerry L. Dodson Jr of Tucumcari, Scott J. Dodson of Alamagordo, NM; daughters Bonnie S. Colgin and husband Tom of Granbury, TX, Vonnie L. Romero and husband Martin of Rio Rancho, NM; brother Fred Furnish Jr and wife Janet of Decatur, IL; sisters Julia Riley of Grand Prairie, TX and Linda Kolman and husband Joe of Winter Springs, FL. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Berniece retired from the City of Tucumcari as a purchasing agent. She was active in BPOE Does, Red Hat Society, Altrusa Club and many other organizations throughout her life which included travels throughout the United States. She was an avid bowler and bingo player. Berniece loved to bake and was known for her exceptional desserts. According to Berniece's wishes, a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Tucumcari Altrusa Club, PO Box 243, Tucumcari, NM 88401- 0243.
