WILSON -- RICHARD EARL "Dick" was born January 31, 1931 in Red Oak Iowa to Louis L. Wilson and Opal Ritnour. He graduated from school in Red Oak in 1950. He also joined the Iowa National Guard. He was joined in marriage in Tabor, Iowa to Ramona Lee Henderson October 31, 1954. They lived in Omaha, NB where he worked with his uncle in the Ritnour Excavating Co. In 1956 due to Ramona's bronchial problem they moved to Albuquerque, NM. He joined Sears and retired after 32 years. He was Hardware Manager and Warehouse Manager. He then went to work for Pace which became Sam's Club where he was Business Development Manager. He retired from Sam's. Then Rio Rancho Public Schools offered him a position of consultant. Two years later, he went to work full time as Warehouse Manager. His years with Rio Rancho School District were the most rewarding of his long employment history. He was proud that he was able to continue his full time employment to his last days. He joined Civitan Club in 1958 and was elected to the position of President of Los Altos Civitan Club. He then was elected Lt. Governor of the district and served the position twice. He was elected district secretary and treasurer of the Great Southwest District. He and Ramona made many trips throughout the district and then attended conventions in other states. He was named Outstanding Young Men Of America in 1968. He was proud to have served the Los Altos Civitan Club with perfect attendance throughout all of his years. He was asked to serve as a Sports Official of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation from 1961-1969. He traveled through the central part of the State officiating at various sports, including events on the Native American reservations. He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1983 and was currently a member of Sandoval Lodge. He joined Order of the Eastern Star in 1986 and served as Worthy Patron with his wife as Worthy Matron. He served as Worthy Patron three other times. He was appointed Grand Representative three times and especially enjoyed being Representative to British Columbia where he and Ramona made very close friends. He also was a member of Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife Ramona, and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 57 years; three sons and one daughter; Richard Craig Wilson and wife Ramy of Wylie, TX, Kae Bacani of Lawton, OK, Reid Loren Wilson and wife Charmaine of Cheyenne WY, and Jason Thomas Wilson of Albuquerque NM; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Sandra Helmer of Red Oak, IA. Services will be held Saturday April 14 at First Christian Church, 10101 Montgomery Blvd NE, at 2:00pm.
