ARCHIBEQUE -- JOHNNIE Born to Aurelia and Juan Archibeque, September 10, 1922, Johnnie peacefully passed away on April 11, 2012. He is survived by his children, Melba Griego of Algodones, Sandra Gutierrez and husband Roger of Silver City, Johnny Archibeque and wife Esther of Bernalillo, Theresa Lucero of Bernalillo and Frank Archibeque of Chicago, Illinois. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all those that loved him and called him "grandpa". Johnnie was a great conversationalist and loved being around people - many with whom he established life-long relationships. He especially loved being around his family who will deeply miss him and cherish his memory forever. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. BOXX -- A. CARL Age 88 years young, passed away on March 29, 2012. Carl was born in Missouri on June 5, 1923 and moved to Albuquerque with his wife, Betty in the late 1940's, Carl was in the Merchant Marines during the war and was in the Phillipines where he and Betty met and married on September 7, 1946. When they returned to the states Carl spent 14 months in the hospital in Pittsburg for TB of the spine. He was told to move to New Mexico or Arizona for his health. He was told he would never work and that he would have to wear a back brace all his life. Carl and Betty moved to Albuquerque and he took the back brace off and in 1951 went to work for Sandia Labs where he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty-83; his daughter, Peggy L. Dale-29; and his infant son, Gregory Carl Boxx-4 mo.; his parents, Ira and Clara Boxx of Ellisnore, MO; and a brother, Glen Boxx of Springfield, MO. He is survived by three children, Carla Williams and her husband, Richard of Albuquerque, Gary Boxx of Albuquerque, Tammy Mouton and her husband, Lee of Lafayette, LA; his two sisters, Frieda Newport of St. Louis, MO and Dorothea Christensen, of West Alexandria, Ohio; five grandchildren, Arlyn Dale of Albuquerque, Todd Dale of Florida, Robin Mangino of Albuquerque, and Richard Williams of Albuquerque, and Jason Boxx of Lafayette, LA. Carl had 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He leaves all his descendants with wonderful memories of a father, grandfather, mentor and friend. There will be a graveside service later in the summer.

BROWN -- SALLY Died at home as the full moon rose on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Writer, teacher, friend and beloved family member. Born Sarah G. Warner on Sunday, December 21, 1919, she was the oldest of three children. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor's in Journalism. She married Robert A. Brown on August 26, 1941 and together they were the parents of six children, five of whom grew to adulthood. They lived in Missouri and Arkansas prior to moving to Santa Fe in 1949. In 1953, they moved to Albuquerque and joined La Mesa Presbyterian Church in 1954. As a mother, she was active in the education of her children taking pride as each earned a college degree. As a volunteer tutor, she touched the lives of many children. She and Bob opened their home to several Navajo children and she maintained her connection with Sarah Leon, her Navajo daughter. She received her Masters in Early Childhood Education at the age of 55. She took great joy in her years spent teaching at St. Mark's in the Valley. Following the death of her husband in 1983, she devoted a year compiling the letters they exchanged during World War II and sharing these cherished memories with her children. She traveled extensively, learning about and experiencing many diverse cultures. In 1998 she completed a history of her father, Seth LeMoyne Warner. In 2004, she published Agnes Brustad Warner Teacher, Wife, Mother Family History Memoir. She was an active member in a book club, enjoyed scrabble and working crossword puzzles and walked daily until the age of 92. In addition to her husband and infant son, Gregory Brown, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott J. Brown and his wife, Teri. She is survived by her daughters: Nikolyn McDonald and husband David; Kathleen Polage and husband Gary; Susan Haywood and husband Tom; and Mary Beth McGonagle and husband Ed. Ten grandchildren learned the love of books from her: Warner Myers, Robert McDonald, Chris Polage, Amy Polage, Sarah Haywood, Ryan Haywood, Shelby Brown, Jeremy Brown, Carrie M. Perry and Kathryn McKee. Four great- grandchildren joined her life late in the game and she treasured each one: Sabrina and Lauren Polage, Elliot Perry and Tessa Jean Myers. In addition, she is survived by her sister Elizabeth Ingell of Jackson, MI and brother Seth L. Warner of Durham, NC. Her nieces and nephews recall with affection her ability to send just the right book to their children over the years. She found exceptional joy in her church family. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 28th, 10:30 a.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper N.E., Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87108. CEPELAK -- LINDA DIANE Age 64, died February 22, 2012 of natural causes. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY; she lived in Rio Rancho; and worked for the Albuquerque Public School System until retiring in 2010. DENOI -- GLORIA Beloved mother, made one final journey from this world on March 21, 2012. Her life was lived to raise her children well, though she was great with numbers, as her last position was as a loan officer for the VA Credit Union. She is survived by her brother, Russ; daughters, Janet, Syndi, and Kacey; two granddaughters; and four great-granddaughters. Gloria loved Frank Sinatra, could out-sing Dinah Shore and looked like a movie star. She taught her daughters to laugh at themselves, honesty, and a desire to be fair, nice, and good to people. FAIRHURST -- CATHERINE D. Age 67, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, since 1972 was welcomed home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 7, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 3, 1944 to Henry J. and Margaret (Clarke) Grein of Hackensack, NJ. She married William "Bill" Fairhurst on August 24, 1968 on Long Island, NY. They were married over 43 years. Cathy was a very loving and devoted wife, mom, and grammy. She will forever be remembered for putting others' needs before her own. Her children are so grateful for her being their confidant and best friend. She attended all of her children and grandchildren's games and events. She was loyal, caring and extremely generous. Cathy spoke up for the downtrodden and cheered on the underdog. Some will remember her working as an Educational Assistant for the Rio Rancho Public School System and the "neighborhood mom." She was, also a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. No one will forget Cathy. She was the heart of her family! She was preceded in death by her very beloved father and mother, Henry J. and Margaret Grein. GEIGER -- HUGH RICHARD Age 85, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Hugh was born on December 20, 1926 in Albuquerque, NM to Clarence and Emma Geiger. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Once released from service, he traveled to Michigan to live. The winters were much too cold for him so he got on his Harley and returned to Albuquerque where he remained for the duration of his life. Hugh met Patt Kirkpatrick in 1947 and they wed May 18, 1948. Soon after they married, Hugh and Patt built a house with their own two hands for himself and his new bride. Hugh was employed by Harley Davidson during this time. For fun and recreation, Hugh raced Harleys and won several trophies. In the mid 50's, wanting to provide a better life for his family, Hugh went to work for Albuquerque Gravel Products. In 1958, he and Patt adopted their first child, Deborah. In 1960, they were blessed with the adoption of their second child, Mark. Then again in 1965, they adopted their third child, Kelly. During these years, Hugh worked his way up through his company and attained the position of Executive Vice-President of Albuquerque Gravel Products. In 1983, they received custody of their fourth child, Tonya and soon after adopted her. In 1988, Hugh retired and pursued his passion for golf, gardening and spending time with his family. Hugh suffered the loss of his wife in 2002, after 53 years of marriage. He then lost his eldest child, Deborah, in 2005. Hugh is survived by his son, Mark Geiger and his wife, Bernice of Albuquerque; his daughters, Kelly Geiger of Albuquerque and Tonya Goretski and her husband, George of Herington, KS; his four grandchildren, Zachariah, Nathaniel, Vincent and Brittney; one great-grandson, Nikolas. Hugh loved to play golf and have dinners with his friends. There will be a Memorial Service at French Lomas Chapel 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012. HANSEN -- MARY BELINDA February 16, 1950 - April 4, 2012 A life long resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on April 4th. Belinda will be remembered as a loving and caring daughter and sister. She was born February 16, 1950 in Albuquerque. She was the daughter of Eugene Lawrence Hansen and Ethel M. Sloter Hansen. Belinda was a graduate of New Mexico State University. She enjoyed her time as a member of the Scandinavian Club of New Mexico. She is survived by her mother; sisters Rebecca K. Hansen, Christine M. Shoesmith and Laurel J. Taylor; brothers Gregory F. Hansen, Mark J. Hansen and Michael E. Hansen; nephews Matthew T. Rosandich and Eliheu R. Blackmon; nieces Sara E. Hansen, Victoria E. Shoesmith, Channel M. Blackmon and Mychal S. HEINZMAN -- MARY March 16, 1912 - April 7, 2012 Passed away on April 7, 2012 among her family in Boulder, CO. She was 100 years old. Mary was a homemaker, wife and mother. She will be fondly remembered for her energy, resolve, independence, thrift and wit. Mary was born March 16, 1912 in Sugar City, CO to George J. Schott and Katherine M. Mueller, the oldest of nine children. In 1923, the family moved to La Junta, CO where Mary later met the love of her life, Marthis L. Heinzman. They were married on December 1, 1930. To their union a son, William G. Heinzman, was born on August 24, 1932. Mary and Marthis, who worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1959. Mary moved to Boulder, CO in 1997 following the death of her husband in 1991. Mary was also preceded in death by her son in 1988. She is survived by a sister, Katherine Hassan of Rushville, NE; three grandchildren, William K. Heinzman and Lisa K. Heinzman-Myers of Boulder, CO, and Robert M. Heinzman of Lee, MA; five great-grandchildren, Katia and Ian Heinzman and Maxx, Benn and Laura Myers, all of Boulder, CO. HINCHEY -- CARL LEE Age 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012. Carl is survived by his children, David Hinchey and his wife, Debbie of Castle Rock, CO, Lori Osburn and her husband, Blake of Rio Rancho, NM and Susan Roberts and her husband, Scott of Albuquerque. Grandchildren include Christopher Osburn and his wife, Emily of Rio Rancho, Sgt. Timothy Osburn and his wife, Alia of Fort Hood, TX, Katharine Hinchey of Boston, MA, and Mark and Caroline Roberts of Albuquerque, as well as five great-grandchildren. Carl was born in Shawnee, OK on November 26, 1929. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Hinchey. He attended the University of Oklahoma and proudly served in the Korean War as a B-29 pilot. Carl was an avid ham radio operator, life-long Civil War buff, and a 3rd Degree Mason with Temple Lodge 6, Albuquerque. Carl was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder for two terms. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Carl is now at peace and with God. HUGHES -- DOROTHY PAULINE (MATTHEWS) Age 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was born June 21, 1924 in Miami, Oklahoma to Bruce and Ethyl Matthews. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine and sons, David and Allyn Hughes. Her husband, Edgar D. Hughes (1921-2008), preceded Dorothy in death. She was a member of The American Lung Association, New Mexico Quilters Association and the Silver City # 3, Order of the Eastern Star. Dorothy was an RN with the Veterans Administration Hospital at Ft. Bayard, NM until its closing in 1965 and then at Albuquerque until she retired in 1981. She loved quilting, had a remarkable talent for combining colors and a great skill for sewing and piecing the many beautiful quilts she created. Cremation and private services have taken place. The family requests that you celebrate her life in a manner of your choice. KRUEGER -- DONALD M. Age 79, passed away with dignity and grace with his loving wife and six children at his side. Don was born to Phyllis and George Krueger on September 16, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois. He spent four year in the in the United States Air Force, which relocated him out west to Las Vegas, Nevada and later to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he started his family with wife Angie Gutierrez, who predeceased him in 1971. On March 25, 1974 Don married his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Carol. Don retired from the City of Albuquerque after 29 years of service, which include management of the City Warehouse, Civic Auditorium, and Convention Center, which he opened. Don was an honorary member and officer of International Association of Auditorium Managers, which allowed Don and Carol to travel the country for annual conventions and meet other convention facility managers who became life-long friends. He had an infectious zest for life, which included fishing, golf, and feeding the slot machines. Don is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his brothers, George and wife Annette, Jim and wife Pat; daughter, Joline Gutierrez Krueger, twin daughters, Janine Ford and Justine Krueger; Donald Krueger and wife Liz, and his twin sister Denise Maffit and husband Brian, and son Matt and wife Catherine. Grandchildren: Jacob, Matt, Devin, Chris, Donald, David, Alicia, Nick, Erin, Turner, Sydney, Harrison, Jazzlyn, Bryan, Alex, Jaclyn, and Matt. MACHAC -- ALPHONSE J. Age 77, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Machac of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Rose Machac-Chavez; sons, Tony Machac, Marvin Machac, Gerald Machac, and Robert Machac; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mac/Sonny/Al was preceded in death by his parents, George and Julia Machac. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force and a retiree of Sandia National Labs. He will always be remembered for his loving and caring heart and disposition. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. MYER -- WILLIAM R. Age 65, died on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio on Sept. 22, 1946 to Donald and Pauline Myer. Bill is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Amelia (Mellie) Delaney Myer and two daughters, Caroline (Callie) Brehm and husband Andy of Golden CO; Emily Myer and husband Jordy Hicks of Albuquerque, NM; brother, David Myer and wife Katy of Hilton Head, SC; sister-in-law Kate Delaney and husband Bill Anderson; brother-in-law Michael Delaney and wife Kathy; nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and much-loved cousins. His niece Ann Myer Ericson of Santa Fe and her family brought special joy to his life in his last few years. Bill spent his entire life in service to others. He was one of the first VISTA volunteers in the mid 1960s, serving on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and in rural Missouri. He established craft cooperatives and was proudest of his work with the Oglala Sioux in a successful project to reestablish tribal elk and buffalo herds. A fondest memory was when he gave a grade school commencement address in Lakota. He had a thirty five year career with the federal government, most of it in management with the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Washington DC and in Albuquerque, NM, with the Peace Corps and VISTA. He served as Associate Peace Corps Director in Ghana and most recently was Peace Corps Director in Turkmenistan. In recent years, he was chair of the Albuquerque/Ashgabat Committee for Albuquerque Sister Cities and wrote grants that brought Central Asian delegations to Albuquerque. He was a CASA volunteer (Court Appointed Special Advocate), advocating for abused and neglected children. He was a Master Mason. He had a BS in conservation biology from Kent State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Missouri. His girls, Callie and Emily, were his greatest joy. He coached their softball teams, attended every band concert and school event, and passed on his many hobbies and interests, rock and fossil hunting, fly fishing, camping and international travel. A memorial service will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel, on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:30 am. SAUR -- ROGER L., DR. age 89, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1995, died April 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife Texis in 1997. He is survived by his children: Dr. Carol Saur of Los Lunas, NM, Catherine Sanborn and husband, Steve of Traverse City, MI, Paul Saur of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren, Eric Sanborn and wife, Andrea of Traverse City, MI; and five great-grandchildren. Dr. Saur was a native of Fremont, Michigan. Dr. Saur taught electronics in the US Navy during WWII, and later obtained a PhD in physical chemistry from Michigan State University. Dr. Saur worked as a research scientist for General Motors Laboratories from 1949 until his retirement in 1977, and made several significant contributions to the automobile industry. At age 71, Dr. Saur verified the authenticity of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and he spent his remaining years researching the Bible. Services will be held at French - University Chapel on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. and officiated by Pastor Alan Hawkins and Pastor Christine Hackett. SKOTCHDOPOLE -- MARK HENRY 1962-2012 Age 50, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on April 10. He was born in 1962, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was raised in Albuquerque and Los Lunas, New Mexico. Mark graduated from the Albuquerque Academy in 1980, where he was a member of the soccer and golf teams. In 1979, Mark led the Academy to a soccer state championship, and as goalie, prevented at least 20 opposing scoring attempts. Mark also took third place in the Albuquerque City Golf Tournament and his ambitions to become a pro golfer were unmet due to a hand injury. Mark attended UNM after high school graduation before opening his own golf shop. He was a master at repairing and making golf clubs. Mark then worked in real estate in Los Lunas, establishing Scott's Real Estate Unlimited, with his wife Dilenda, from 1990 to 2002. Mark then became a journeyman carpenter, retiring on disability due to diabetes from JB Henderson Construction Company in 2010. Mark was an avid member of the Southwest Carpenters' Union, Local #407 for ten years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Marguerite Luckett Skotchdopole; his father, Henry Skotchdopole; and his older brother Leonard Douglas Horne. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Dilenda Scott of Los Lunas; his daughter, Chelsea Morris and husband, Michael of Lake Monticello, VA; his stepson, Larry Romero and partner, Julianna Martinez of Los Lunas; the nephew he raised as his own, James Andrew Scott, of Los Lunas; and his beloved grandson, Alexzander Romero of Los Lunas. Mark is also survived by his brothers, Tom Horne and his wife, Linda, of Austin TX; and Paul Skotchdopole and his wife, Yolanda, of Las Vegas, NM; his sisters, Gayla Thomason of Los Lunas and Arlene Horne and partner, Carlton Cann, of Douglasville, GA; his aunt, Lillian Balfour of Los Lunas; sisters-in-law, Debbie Blea, Janine Meraz, and Lisa Scott; and brothers-in-law, Robert Scott and Rene Scott; his grandmother-in-law, Ida Perkins; and his wife's aunt, Pat Salgado. Mark is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Emily Horne, Jimmy Thomason, Shona Thomason, Gabriel Langford, Maia Reeves, Chris Hahn, Thomas Horne, Amanda Skotchdopole, Brian Skotchdopole, Vincent Scott, Beto Baeza, Violet Scott, Maricarmen Scott, Monica Marin, and Alisha Scott. Also surviving is Gabby Ogdon, who provided special care for Mark. The family requests that donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation. WENGERT -- CAROLINA P. Age 102, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 9. Born in Cebolla, New Mexico in 1909, "Cora" raised her family in Wagon Mound with her husband Jose V. Wengert who preceded her in death in 1973. "Grandma" moved to Tucumcari where she lived for 13 years with her daughter Dr. Gloria Wengert, helping raise her children. They moved to Albuquerque where grandma lived for 21 years until her passing. Carolina is survived by son Art and wife, Dorothy Wengert; daughter Brenilda and husband Moises Sandoval; daughter Bessie Namath; son Maurice and wife, Carol Wengert; daughter Dr. Gloria Wengert; over 52 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a number of great-great grandchildren; nephews and nieces and friends, many from Westwind House in Albuquerque where she resided for the last three years. Carolina loved her family. She took great joy sharing stories about her life on the ranch with "Mr. Wengert." She made friends with everyone she met and charmed everyone with her spunk and quick wit. She was a treasure trove of Spanish dichos and culture. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 P.M. at St. Jude Thaddeus Church. Funeral services will be held in Wagon Mound, Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 A.M. at Santa Clara Parrish. Pallbearers will be Arthur Joe Wengert, Loretta Sanchez, Lee Arguello, Wesley Wengert, Francisco DeGraffenreid and Camden Watts.

WILSON -- RICHARD EARL "Dick" was born January 31, 1931 in Red Oak Iowa to Louis L. Wilson and Opal Ritnour. He graduated from school in Red Oak in 1950. He also joined the Iowa National Guard. He was joined in marriage in Tabor, Iowa to Ramona Lee Henderson October 31, 1954. They lived in Omaha, NB where he worked with his uncle in the Ritnour Excavating Co. In 1956 due to Ramona's bronchial problem they moved to Albuquerque, NM. He joined Sears and retired after 32 years. He was Hardware Manager and Warehouse Manager. He then went to work for Pace which became Sam's Club where he was Business Development Manager. He retired from Sam's. Then Rio Rancho Public Schools offered him a position of consultant. Two years later, he went to work full time as Warehouse Manager. His years with Rio Rancho School District were the most rewarding of his long employment history. He was proud that he was able to continue his full time employment to his last days. He joined Civitan Club in 1958 and was elected to the position of President of Los Altos Civitan Club. He then was elected Lt. Governor of the district and served the position twice. He was elected district secretary and treasurer of the Great Southwest District. He and Ramona made many trips throughout the district and then attended conventions in other states. He was named Outstanding Young Men Of America in 1968. He was proud to have served the Los Altos Civitan Club with perfect attendance throughout all of his years. He was asked to serve as a Sports Official of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation from 1961-1969. He traveled through the central part of the State officiating at various sports, including events on the Native American reservations. He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1983 and was currently a member of Sandoval Lodge. He joined Order of the Eastern Star in 1986 and served as Worthy Patron with his wife as Worthy Matron. He served as Worthy Patron three other times. He was appointed Grand Representative three times and especially enjoyed being Representative to British Columbia where he and Ramona made very close friends. He also was a member of Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife Ramona, and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 57 years; three sons and one daughter; Richard Craig Wilson and wife Ramy of Wylie, TX, Kae Bacani of Lawton, OK, Reid Loren Wilson and wife Charmaine of Cheyenne WY, and Jason Thomas Wilson of Albuquerque NM; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Sandra Helmer of Red Oak, IA. Services will be held Saturday April 14 at First Christian Church, 10101 Montgomery Blvd NE, at 2:00pm.
