GONZALES -- CHARLOTTE passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 5, 2012. She was born in Las Colonias, New Mexico on July 21, 1925. She has since been a longtime resident of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Gonzales, son, Jose Luis Gonzales and granddaughter, Jamie Gonzales. Charlotte is survived by her son, Benny Gonzales and wife, Patty of Albuquerque; granddaughters; Jessica Hammonds and Jackie Gonzales and her great-grandchildren: Jade, Savahna, Carlos and Alex, also brothers, Albert Gonzales and wife, Rosa from Killeen, Texas, Manuel Gonzales and wife, Mary from Albuquerque and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was very active at her church, St. Francis, in Albuquerque, and for ten years she worked for the Grandparents Program as a "grandma" at Eugene Field Elementary, sharing her wisdom, smiles and hugs with hundreds of children. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the love and support shown by all the children, teachers and principals who brought much joy in her life. She is so very loved by all and will be deeply missed. Pallbearers will be Carmen Gonzales, Felipe Gonzales, Mannie Gonzales, Albert Gonzales, Bernie Gonzales and Israel Jaramillo. A viewing will be held at 5:30pm on Sunday January 8, 2012 followed by a Rosary at 6:00pm at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. A mass will be held at 1:00 p.m.on Monday January 9, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church820 Broadway Blvd SE, Albuq, NM. Interment is to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
