BRANTLEY -- CLEO LARKIN Retired USAF MSgt, passed away at age 92 on 6 December 2011. His military service covered 32 years, with time in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. The family was stationed mostly in the western US, but also lived in Madrid, Spain on an overseas tour. Born 23 January 1919, Cleo grew up in McCalla, Alabama, with eight brothers and sisters. He was practical man, skilled in carpentry, and rarely without a pocket knife, string and electrical tape. After his retirement in Albuquerque in 1974, he enjoyed fishing and camping in northern NM and had a strong lifelong connection with the natural world. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary Dorothy "Dot"; daughter Sandra; sister Maggie Colvard of McCalla; numerous nieces and nephews and their children. A Memorial is planned for 23 January 2012 at 10:30am at Brookdale Place, 300 Valencia SE, Albuquerque, where Cleo spent his last four years. Cleo's ashes will be buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family thanks Brookdale Place, Hospice de la Luz, ElderCare Solutions and French Mortuary for their valuable support during this difficult time.
