NEWELL -- DONALD W. Age 86, born December 19, 1924 in Great Bend, Kansas and died September 19, 2011 in Albuquerque and lived most of his life in Denver, Colorado and Albuquerque. Mr. Newell was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Inez. He is survived by his sister, Lenora Ruthven; three nieces; four nephews and their families; and many friends. Don had a career in sales of office supplies with Frankel Carbon and Ribbon in Denver for 50 years. Most recently, he was active in the Solo Club, the Elks, Meadowlark Senior Center and Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church. Friends may visit French - Westside location- Friday, September 23, 2011, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church, 8700 Alameda NE. A graveside service will take place at the Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia St SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
