PATTERSON -- JERRY "JP" Was welcomed into the loving arms of Our Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2011 with the two loves of his life, his wife, Tina and his daughter Stephanie, beside him. He fought a valiant battle against lung cancer with an iron will until the end. Jerry enjoyed a career in the commercial tire business for over 30 years, and through that venue, met many extraordinary people and treasured friends. Jerry was known for maintaining absolute integrity in every aspect of his life. He grew up in Phoenix to a loving family, but a career opportunity brought him to New Mexico. JP immediately fell in love with the people, the landscape, and the red and green chile. Jerry was a thoughtful and kind man with a dry wit, but his biggest attribute was his big heart. He always put the needs and wants of others before his own. His loss leaves a huge hole in all of those who knew and loved him, but he knew he was heaven-bound. Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Pat and Grace Patterson, and his nephew, Todd. He is survived by his wife, Tina and daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Mark. He is also survived by his two sisters, Patti and Peggy and husband Howard whom he loved very much. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sandie and her husband, Jim, mother and father-in-law Ramon and Margaret with whom he had a very special closeness. Their support during his illness with their "meals on wheels" as he called it, kept him strengthened and JP was so touched by their kindness. JP is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews of whom he was always so very proud. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd., NW, with private interment to follow. Friends may visit one hour prior to service. Please visit our online guestbook for JP at: RememberTheirStory.com FRENCH 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (505) 897-0300
