ROMERO -- THERESA Age 51, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011. She was born on April 2, 1960, and was a life long resident of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Mahboub; grandparents, Chonita and Donico Martinez, Connie and Ernest Chavez; brothers, Joyla Stephens, Jose Gutierrez. Theresa is survived by her children, Michael "Corazon" Astorga and wife Marcella, Matthew "Gorilla" Astorga and wife Sally, Anthony "The Pup" Lucero, Jasmine "Jazi"; her mother, Vicentita Gutierrez and step-father, James; brother, Junior Martinez; sisters, Jeanette Duran, Maryann Celedon, Shirley Daniel, Barbara Fubia, Rosalie Stephens, and Ruth Chavez; her grandchildren, Alexis, Mercedes, Elena, Ricky, Alicia, and Ricardo; numerous relatives and friends. Theresa was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan; George Straight was #1 to her in country music; she enjoyed dancing, being the life of the party. She always tried to show the happy side of her even on her worse day. Theresa was a giving and loving person and stood strong in her believes. Her life were her children she fondly nick named, Gorilla, The Pup, Corazon, and Jazi, her "Number One Sweethearts". Theresa will be greatly missed by all. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marty Saiz, Marcos Candelaria, Mark Segura, Donny Rodarte, Ricky Candelaria, and Richard Lucero. Honorary Bearers will be Ricky Poolaw, Nestor Duran, Rick Candelaria, Jesus Casas, Jeremy Chavez, and Dennis Martinez.
