WALLACE -- BONNIE ELLIOTT Age 60, passed away August 5, 2011. She was born on November 22, 1950 to John and Dorothy Elliott, in Los Angeles, California. She considered Albuquerque, NM, her home, where she lived with her immediate family for almost thirty years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Elliott. Bonnie is survived by her husband of nearly forty years, James Wallace. She is also survived by two sons, Scott and Eric, as well as Scott's wife, Stephanie and their son, Carter Noah. In addition, Bonnie is survived by her father, John (Ada); and by her siblings and their spouses, Calvin (Ginny), Warren (Hope), Bruce (Alice) and Joan (Warren); as well as fourteen nieces and nephews. In the last year, to say that Bonnie loved her time with little Carter is an understatement. She treasured their numerous happy hours together while they both enjoyed making soap bubbles, watching seed pods twirl to the ground and playing pretend picnic and serving each other tea and cookies. Carter beamed as he watched "grammy" play finger games and listened to her recite nursery rhymes. Bonnie enjoyed a full life, even though it was cut short. She loved to travel and truly cherished living in several locations across the country before settling in Albuquerque. Everywhere she lived, she established close ties with numerous friends. This was especially true with the various groups she either worked for or volunteered with in Albuquerque. She was an active participant in the PTA, serving as president at all levels of school her sons attended. Besides volunteering, she loved teaching preschool, as well as working at realty companies as a graphic artist. She started her own desktop publishing business, and became well-known for her skills in imaginative designs and her artistic talent. However, she was always the happiest and most rewarded for her work as Youth Director for Covenant Presbyterian Church. Her reward in this role was in establishing close and lasting bonds with so many young people who retained their contact with and love for her over the years. She had a profound impact on so many young lives by sharing her enthusiasm for life, her sense of humor, her joyous laughter and big hugs. Anyone who came to know Bonnie recognized that she was a unique individual with a special sparkle of life. Bonnie is much loved by many who will deeply miss her presence, but will find solace in knowing that they shared time with a precious soul who is now at peace and without pain. There will be a memorial service for Bonnie at 4:00 pm on August 27, 2011 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 9315 Candelaria Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CaringBridge.org, through which she kept contact with family and friends and received great joy and encouragement from those who wrote to her and visited her site.
