ROSENDALE -- BETTY Age 86, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Walter "Rosie" Rosendale; her daughter, Sandra Lynn Rosendale Robberts; her three siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Janine Joy Rosendale Maydew; grandsons, Mark and Ryan Maydew; granddaughters, Hannah and Shellby Robberts. She was a very caring and loving grandma and spent alot of time with her grandchildren. She was born in Council Grove, Kansas, and fell in love with and married Rosie when he was stationed at Harrington Air Force while she was working there as a secretary. They moved to Massachusetts to be near his family, but hated the cold weather, decided to "go west, " and headed off on Route 66. They stopped in Albuquerque when they saw the view of the city lights when coming through Tijeras Canyon and never left. Betty was hired as an Administrative Assistant at Sandia National Laboratories, but took leave when her daughters were born to be a stay at home mom, at which she was spectacular. Betty was always a very talented performer, actress, and songstress. She and her brother Wayne sang and played the accordion on the radio when they were kids, and she went on to star in many plays, musicals, and variety shows with Music Theatre Southwest, Civic Light Opera and the Press Club here in Albuquerque and even went on a tour performing at Dinner Theatres across the country. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, August 24th at 4:30 pm at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Pl. N.E.
