WALDRIFF -- GEORGE A., MD (1918 - 2011), was a long time resident of Albuquerque, NM, where he enjoyed a solo practice of dermatology from 1949 until his retirement in 1985. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado in 1939 and a Medical Degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1943. In World War II he was a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. In 1946 Dr. Waldriff was the first resident in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. From 1947-1949 he was the second resident in the Department of Dermatology at Cornell Medical College. He was a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the Pacific Dermatologic Association. He was a member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine. Dr. Waldriff's life was enriched by his many colleagues, patients, and friends, and by diverse interests and adventures. Mrs. Shar Waldriff, his wife of 50 years, predeceased him.
