ANAYA -- LYNN MARIE Born October 2, 1959, passed away June 12, 2011 on her last vacation in Cancun, Mexico (go figure). She was the second oldest of seven children born to Ron and Kathy McCulloch. She is survived by her parents; her children, Jesse Ryder and his daughter Elise, Geoffrey Ryder and his wife Sarah, Franki Anaya and Alex Anaya; as well as brothers Ronald, Donald, Chris, Kenny and Brian; sister Kathryn, along with their families. She was dedicated to the family business Five J's Auto Parts mainly because she could wear her slippers to work. She was best known, however, for her devotion to the Steelers and Yankees. She was always letting everyone else know just how much their team sucked by doing her victory dance and showing them her famous tattoos. BROOKS -- JIMMY ALAN Age 62, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Born to Jimmy and Edna Brooks in 1949, he then became known as Alan by friends and family. Some of his accomplishments include: Eagle Scout, High School marching band, University of Delaware Alum, The National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Alum, member and leader of Collage Outing Clubs Society, member of Song and Dance Society, member of National Speleological Society, and a member of International Wood Collectors Society (IWCS). Alan was a Publications Editor for the majority of his working years with the last 10 years as Editor of World of Wood for the IWCS. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; and younger brother, Michael. Alan is survived by his wife, dance partner, and companion of 25 years, Jodie; many uncles, aunts, cousins; and two nieces, Jeanette and Melissa. CHAVEZ -- STEVE Age 88, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 16, 2011. He was born on September 12, 1922 in Edgewood, NM. Steve is survived by his sons, Anthony Chavez and wife Viola, Ray Chavez and wife Mary, Bobby Chavez and wife Sylvia; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Eloisa Montano, Sofi Lara, Ann Sanchez; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ologia; parents, Juan and Josefita Chavez; and son, Eddie Chavez. He was the proud owner of Steve Chavez Trucking but once retired he took up horse racing, he had a true passion for horses. He won the All American Futurity Race in 1995 at the Ruidoso Downs Race Track as well as many other races. Steve also loved to travel to Las Vegas, NV, where he enjoyed gambling. CHURCH -- THEODORE SPENCER (TED) Passed away on April 15, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Santa Fe, NM, the eldest son of Fermor Spencer and Peggy Pond Church, and the grandson of Ashley Pond, Jr. Ted married Elizabeth Comfort Dixon on July 5, 1947 in Taos, NM, with the wedding officiated by his father-in-law, E. Nicholas Comfort. He is survived by one daughter, Robyn Church Hatton; five grandchildren, Heather Pruger (Max), Rachel Hatton, Daniel Hatton, Stephen Hatton, Paul Hatton; two great-grandchildren, Ellie Pruger and Erik Pruger; two brothers: Hugh (Kathleen) Church, and his children Julia (Jeff) Hoffman, Eric (Andrea) Church, and Leigh Church; and Allen Church, and his two children, Nancy (Mike) Whetstone and Janet (Scott) Harrison. Ted graduated from the Los Alamos Ranch School (1937-1943) and attended MIT where he earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1946. He served in the US Navy as an Ensign aboard the USS Marvin H. McIntyre. In 1947, Ted entered into employment with the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in the Applied Physics Department at Sandia Base in Albuquerque, NM. After 43 years, Ted retired from Sandia National Laboratories in May, 1990. In 1969, he was accepted by Albuquerque Monthly Meeting as a member of the Religious Society of Friends. He held the position of Clerk of the Friends Inter-mountain Yearly Meeting (1999-2003). He was a member of the Quakers' Religious Society of Friends and served in various capacities with the Albuquerque Monthly Meeting, Inter-mountain Yearly Meeting, American Friends Service Committee, and the Friends World Committee for Consultation at the Quaker United Nations Office. Ted enjoyed many activities, such as skiing, fly fishing, tennis, canine obedience training, competition and field trials with AKC High Farms Yankee Pedlar, including Champion Dog Golden Retriever. Albuquerque Quakers will hold a Memorial Meeting for Ted Church on Sunday, June 26th at 2:00 p.m., at the Friends Meeting House at 1600 5th St NW Albuquerque, NM 87102. DOMENICI -- CATHERINE passed away peacefully on June 13, 2011. Catherine was born December 30, 1927. She was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert of 53 years. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Domenici of New York and her husband Larry Saunders, Karen Domenici of Alexandria, VA, her husband Rolf Ness; as well as granddaughters Kristina and Isabella Ness. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Jeanette and Jerry Monahan and sisters-in law Theresa Menicucci, her husband Mario, Lilly Tomasi, her husband John, Frances Domenici; and her brothers-in-law George and Charlie Domenici. She had numerous nieces and nephews whom were all considered her "favorite". Catherine was a member of P.E.O. She enjoyed volunteer work and served at St. Joseph's Hospital, The Brothers of the Good Shepherd, and was also a member of her Neighborhood Association. She loved music and was on the board of the Albuquerque chapter of the Santa Fe Opera for several years. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was baptized, confirmed and married there. Her focus in life was her family, friends, and her community. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Entombment will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum. DONOVAN -- JACQUELYN MARIE Age 80, passed away June 13, 2011. She is survived by her two children, Adele Woodruff and Brian Donovan; her five grandchildren, Scott Woodruff, Jennifer Woodruff, Jennifer Parrott, Brian Fulbright and Sean Donovan; her two great-grandchildren, Cody and Caleb (Peanut) Parrott; and her brother, Kenneth Ellsworth. She was preceded in death by William, her beloved husband of 60 years; her parents, Forrest Ellsworth and Dorothy Schrinner; her brothers, Terrence Ellsworth and Forrest Harry Ellsworth; and her daughter, Michele. She was born April 28, 1931 in Lansing, Michigan. She was active in the Young Ladies Institute at St. Joseph's church in Pomona, California and was a frequent volunteer and chaperone for the Chi Rho teens at her church in Claremont, California. She was also active in Community Theatre with her entire family. When she moved to Los Gatos, California she became known for the beautiful wedding cakes she baked, that tasted even better than they looked. She and her husband retired and moved to Albuquerque where she realized her lifelong wish to have a swimming pool. She was an avid swimmer and loved to entertain by the pool. It seems she never really grew up and enjoyed the company and energy of teens. She hosted an exchange student from Germany for a year and spent many summers hosting teens from Northern Ireland. She always loved animals and was active as a volunteer at several animal shelters and rescued numerous puppies and kittens. She also enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes to share with friends and family. Her favorite color was blue and once upon a time she even had blue hair to match her blue shoes. She never met a stranger, only a new friend. Most of all she loved her family and she will be missed. A celebration brunch will be held for Jackie and Bill on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at 10805 Menaul NE. FELIX -- ANTONIO (TONY) JR. Age 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away June 15, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a proud Navy veteran and he loved fishing. His constant smile will never be forgotten, nor will his wonderfully natural good. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sons, James Ambrose Felix and Paul Martinez; and grandson, Ruben Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Margaret (Peggy) Garcia; four children, Andres Garcia and wife JoAnn, Vincent Garcia, Richard Garcia and fiancee Pam, all of Albuquerque, NM, Elsa deJong and husband Tony of Phoenix, AZ.; 13 grandchildren, Andres Garcia and wife Paula, Andrea Gallegos and husband, Jacob, Kristy Parada and husband Tony, Francesca Omanson and husband Jason, Agustina Martinez and husband Anthony, Mia Garcia, Benjamin Gonzales and Andrea Chavez, Lorena Garcia, Alicia Garcia, George, Rhett, and Clint Walker; ten great-grandchildren, Maddilyn Z. He was so very proud of being married to his wife, Mary Margaret that he affectionately called, "Mi Costi". He was devoted to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known as "Huny" to his grandchildren. Arturo was a retiree of the City of Albuquerque. He served his community and was previously Exalted Ruler of the Elks, and past President/Governor of the Moose Lodge of NM and AZ and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Arturo had a great sense of humor and could always make others laugh. He was a true friend to many and made all feel at ease. His house was always open and he enjoyed the constant flow of family and friends who visited. Cremation has taken place. GONZALES -- MARY S. Age 81, passed away June 17, 2011 in a local hospital. She was born January 2, 1930 in Brighton, Colorado. She was known for her cooking in Polly's Restaurant years ago. She was preceded in death by her son Lawrence Gonzales in 2007; and a grandson, Manuel Gonzales in 2008. Mary is survived by her two sons, Joseph Solano and his wife Jesustita, and Leroy Gonzales and his wife Sara; two daughters, Lisa Anaya and her husband Victor and Loretta Gonzales; one brother Milnor Solano; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. HERTZ -- JOANNE RETHA Age 71, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 in her home in Albuquerque. Joanne is survived by her husband, Peter Mondragon; sons Brian Hertz and Joseph Hertz; daughter-in-law, Lauren Hertz: granddaughters Tori Hertz, and Sidney Ratoskey; grandsons Austin, Nathan and Logan Hertz; sister Patricia Schott, and many other friends and relatives. Joanne was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years, Melvin Hertz, in 2001. Joanne was born in San Francisco, grew up in San Carlos and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in journalism. Joanne moved to Albuquerque in 1971, and spent many years working for the Associated Press, KOB-TV, numerous political campaigns, and Sandia National Laboratories. She was an avid outdoorswoman, loved hiking, cooking and animals, especially her dogs. Joanne was actively involved in the Catholic Church, participating in choir. She was a member of the Albuquerque Wildlife Federation and the New Mexico Wildlife Federation. Friends may visit French ~ Wyoming Chapel beginning at 6:00p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011, with a Rosary Service at 7:00p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at San Ignacio Catholic Church, with Father Carlos Gonzales officiating. Burial will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2011 in Lake City, CO. JACOBS -- DARWIN JACK Age 76, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away Monday, June 13, 2011. He was born in St Paul, Nebraska, to Harry and Frieda Jacobs. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School. He was a retired U.S Army Command Sergeant Major. He served his country honorably for 21 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. Upon retirement from the service he was Head of Security for his beloved San Francisco 49ers. He was an avid golfer and accomplished carpenter/furniture maker. MCKEE -- MARY ANN Age 60, passed away on June 16, 2011 after bravely battling a long illness. Mary Ann was a loving wife, amazing mother, caring grandmother, devoted sister and special friend. Throughout her working years, she was a mentor to many young associates who went onto successful careers. Her colleagues remember her for her intelligence, patience and ability to calmly deal with high pressure situations. She was active in the Albuquerque chapter of the American Business Women's Association, member of the NM Lobo Club and a graduate of the Wisconsin School of Banking. Mary Ann was an avid sports fan of her hometown Cleveland teams and loved cheering on her children in their high school and college level sports. She enjoyed going out and dancing with her friends. Her smile, bright outlook and loyal friendship will be missed by all who knew and love her. MEAD -- GRACE LEONA Age 81, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, went home to be with our Lord Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Born on June 11, 1930 in Coscob, CT, she was a very generous person who made people laugh wherever she went and never met a stranger. Grace was artistic by nature, and brought that talent to her several careers of vocalist, artist, professional cook, and caregiver. She was well traveled and lived for two years in both Bejing, China and Padova, Italy. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Gideon and Alice Mead; and three of her brothers, Walter, John and Thomas Mead. MILLER -- DIXIE ADELINE Age 93, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, June 16, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wesley Miller; niece, Vicki Christensen and husband, Paul of Albuquerque; niece, Judy Nixon of Nevada; nephew, Keith Rutherford and wife, Sharon of Placitas; and other relatives and friends. Dixie was preceded in death by her three sisters, Edna, Pauline and Sicely. She was born in Dehue, West Virginia to Mollie Jane and Granville Paul Harvey and graduated from Huntington High School. She loved to paint, was an avid reader, and loved her flower garden, feeding the birds, and singing. She could spell any word backwards faster than you could spell it forward. Dixie was our family historian. She was an excellent typist and a wonderful seamstress, making doll clothes for her niece's dolls and sewing her own dresses. In her younger years she and Wesley loved to hike, go camping, and traveling. Dixie loved the Southwest and the sunshine. She was a loving wife, aunt and great-aunt, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her beloved "Bailey". As Dixie would say, "Always have a song in your heart." OLTMANNS -- HENRY (HANK) JR. born to Henry (Henie) and Donie (Maddox) Oltmanns on November 20, 1922, passed away June 15, 2011. His wife of 67 years, Barbara (Bobby) and his daughter Donie were at his side when the Lord called him home. Bobby and Hank met while attending college in Nebraska. Hank was on the basketball team and according to his wife the best dance in college. Hank proudly served with the United States Army's 84th Infantry division during WWII. He was wounded on Christmas Eve, 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. Hank started in the insurance industry with the Traveler's insurance and had his own agency for many years in Albuquerque, NM. Hank is survived by wife Bobby; son Randy (Nancy) Oltmanns; daughter Donie (Jimmy) Schmidt, son Henry Hans-deceased (Ginny) Oltmanns; grandchildren, Diana (James) Stolz, Cathy Jo (Mark) Stevenson, Melissa (Scott) Templeton and Travis Schmidt. He worked 44 years for Butter Krust Breads (Meads). Roger started his career as a baker, then supervisor and retired as manager. PARKER -- ELIZABETH LEE (BETTY) Age 77, born February 15, 1934, Beckley, West Virginia, passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father June 18, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She passed away at home surrounded by her children and loved ones. Born to Lieutenant Colonel Orval Calvin Thompson and Gladys Irene Dudley. Survivors include one sister Ann Marshall; a brother, Tom Thompson (Chris), Children Marilyn (Robert) Black, Gayle (Mark) Hutchins, Joleen (Terry) Bingham, Carl E. Good III, and John (Janet) Good; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchldren; and beloved and special caregiver Amy Gallegos. Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Carl E. Good Jr., Burton Parker; a son-in-law, George Tracey; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Good; a grandson Joshuah Good, and many dear friends. Our mother loved life, was well educated, and a wonderful cook. Her life was filled with the constant need to serve others. Through all of her trails in life she persevered with a positive attitude. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as worker in the Albuquerque LDS Temple. Her most recent employment was with US Forest Service as a bookkeeper. Her hobbies include having a private pilots license, riding her favorite horse Freckles, tending her rose garden, playing cards, reading, playing the piano, crocheting, and sewing. She had wonderful handwriting and was a model in young womanhood. She grew up in the depression and was an army brat. She traveled to many places around the world during her childhood. One of her favorite places was Panama where her father was instrumental in the building of the Panama Canal. A viewing will be held in Relief Society Room, 12:00PM, Monday June 20, 2011, with service to follow at 1:00PM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1100 Montano NW, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Michael is survived by his son Michael E. Saunders Jr. and wife Malli; mother Ruth Kirker; brother Robert L. Saunders Jr. and wife Jeri and Charles A. He was a Navy veteran during the Korean War and proudly served on board the attack carrier U.S. S. Bennington. He was on board the Bennington in 1954 when it experienced a devastating catapult explosion that killed over 103 crew members and he narrowly missed being caught in the explosion himself. He fought an early private fight against homophobia in the Navy. Don worked for 30 years for AMP Corp. in Harrisburg, PA. For many years he served the youth of Pennsylvania as a volunteer Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and is fondly remembered by many of those young men he helped guide. He was awarded the Vigil Honor Order of the Arrow and the Silver Beaver Award, both from the Boy Scouts of America for his service to youth. He took Scouting crews on numerous challenging backpack trips to Philmont Scout Ranch in northern New Mexico. He was commended by both the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Senate and House of Representatives for his service to the youth of Pennsylvania. New Mexico became his second home and upon retirement he moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1994. In 2001 he was a founding member of the American Veterans for Equal Rights Bataan Chapter. As a member he has supported and worked for the rights of gays to serve openly in the service of our country. He worked with the MPower program of HIV prevention for young men, was a member of the Prime Timers International men's group, and Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbian and Gays (PFLAG) in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his cousins, Dr. Donald Patton, Charles S. Russell, and John Neely; his Godson, Wade Huggins; and his many friends and adopted community family in Albuquerque. He remained to the end, as he always has been, his usual caring, outgoing and supportive self. Don will be fondly remembered by all of his family, friends and associates and we will greatly miss his presence. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 23, 2011, Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A celebration of Don's life will be held at a later date. THOMSON -- PATRICIA MARGARET RAY March 13, 1926 - June 14, 2011 Pat was born in Iron Mt. MI. and raised in Detroit. She married Wesley Wardell, the love of her life and lived in Oak Park, MI. She was widowed with five children at age 30. In 1961, she married Harry Thomson and moved to Alb, NM, where her sixth child was born. The marriage was brief. She worked for Dr. Neil McCullough, MD, Psychiatrist for 11 years. She then worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of NM, retiring at age 65. She went back to work for six years at NM One Call, and seasonally at BCBS of NM. Pat is survived by her six children: Linda Gass and husband Denny of Urbandale, Iowa, Patti Hathaway and husband Neil of Veguita, NM., Kathy Challancin and Husband Paul of Monroe, WA, James, Maureen, and Bobi Sue Thomson of Albq. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Kym, Eric, Shannon, Tony, Susie and Mitchel, and five great-grandchildren: Sean, Erin, Lucie, Kate and Sarah. Pat always felt close to her many MI relatives and kept in close touch through the years, and was also blessed with a wide circle of friends. Pat, a much-loved mother, grandmother and friend left this Earth for what she was certain was a greater life. She was excited to see what was on the other side. Because of her strong faith and the grace of God, she had no fear of death. She will be missed. Rosary will be said at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 1818 Coal Pl. SE, on July 6, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. On July 7, 2011, Mass will be at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 10:00 a.m., with reception immediately following in theParish Hall.

TRONCOSO -- SEBASTIAN JR. Age 75, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011. WALDRIFF -- GEORGE A., MD (1918 - 2011), was a long time resident of Albuquerque, NM, where he enjoyed a solo practice of dermatology from 1949 until his retirement in 1985. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado in 1939 and a Medical Degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1943. In World War II he was a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. In 1946 Dr. Waldriff was the first resident in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. From 1947-1949 he was the second resident in the Department of Dermatology at Cornell Medical College. He was a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the Pacific Dermatologic Association. He was a member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine. Dr. Waldriff's life was enriched by his many colleagues, patients, and friends, and by diverse interests and adventures. Mrs. Shar Waldriff, his wife of 50 years, predeceased him. WEILER -- ROBERT A. (BOB) Age 88, died June 17, 2011. He was born in Egg Harbor City, NJ on November 23, 1922 and had been a resident of Albuquerque for many years. He was retired from the NM Army National Guard and was a local musician with his own band "The Los Gatos" Bob Weiler is survived by daughters Lorrie Tolbert and husband Bemmy of Tijeras, NM, Linda Edwards of Peoria, AZ; and a son Woody Weiler of Clovis, NM; and one sister Anna Roesch of Broomall, PA; He is also survived by three grandchildren John Sullivan, Stacey Sullivan and Melissa Schultz all of Albuquerque; and one great- granddaughter Sierra Camacho also of Albuquerque. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Riverside Funeral Home 225 San Mateo Blvd NE 764-9663. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following at 6705 Avenida La Costa NE. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Assoc.
