ABEYTA -- Joseph "Papa Joe" Abeyta, 53, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011. Mr. Abeyta was preceded in death by his parents: Barbara and Federico Abeyta; mother and father-in-law: Dora and Alex Pena; and brother: Leonardo Abeyta. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, JoAnn Abeyta; daughters: Joyce Elwell and husband, Phillip; Jolene Abeyta and boyfriend, Joseph Lopez; Jaclyn Baca and husband, Jesse; brothers: Leonides Abeyta, Fred Abeyta and wife Petra; sisters: Rosella Otero, Lillian Romero and husband Moses, Barbara Abeyta, Betty Bueno and husband Anastacio, Shirley Abeyta, Jane Garcia, Hilda Abeyta and boyfriend Michael Salazar, Judy Abeyta and boyfriend Rick Dubois; five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and best friends, Dol Bhattarai (Dinesh) and Peter Gallegos. Life Celebration Service will be Tuesday May 31st, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Reflection of Life
