NEHER -- Betty G. Neher of Las Cruces passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2011, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton E. Neher. She is survived by her son, Stephen Scales and his wife Margy, of Deming, grandson Stephen Jr. of Pagosa Springs, CO, granddaughters Melissa Giacomelli (Darrell) and Gretchen Lindsay (Gary) both of Las Cruces and seven great-grandchildren S.G. Scales, Samantha Hall (James), Kiley, Alyx and Lindsey Giacomelli, Jodi and J.W. Lindsay. Betty was a long time resident of Albuquerque and retired from the University of New Mexico following 32 years of service. She was a member of the Albuquerque Chapter of Altrusa International Club. Following cremation by La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home of Las Cruces, interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Albquerque. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ambercare Hospice at 850 South Telshor Boulevard, Ste. A, Las Cruces, New Mexico, 88011 or to Cottonbloom Assisted Living Center at 5525 Cottonbloom Court, Las Cruces, NM 88007.
