JOHNSTON -- Carolyn L. Johnston (Davison) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly March 5, 2011 at her home. She was born Carolyn Lee Davison on November 2, 1929 to Orion L. and Florence S. Davison in Liberal, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Alamosa, Colorado in 1945, and received her Bachelor's Degree from Western State College, Gunnison, Colorado in 1949. Carolyn married Laurence Reid Johnston on June 14, 1949 in Alamosa, Colorado and they later lived in Telluride, Bonanza, Grand Junction, Montrose, and Salida, Colorado prior to moving to Albuquerque in 1973. Carolyn has been an active member of PEO Chapter AW for 35 years and enjoyed her PEO sisters so much. She was also active in a card club and was very proficient in crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Carolyn enjoyed volunteer work through the years and was devoted to her husband Reid, who preceded her in death February 5, 2008. She is survived by her daughters Judy (Rob) Myers of Fountain, Colorado and Jackie (Michael) Miller of Albuquerque; her granddaughters, Lindsey Myers and Kristin Myers of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jessica Balding of Navarre, Florida, and Michelle Miller and Maya Miller of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her sister Kathryn (Hugh) Gillum of Waco, TX; her sister in law Betty Ashley and brother in law Jack Ashley of Bonanza, Colorado and sister in law Josephine Benson of Salida, Colorado. Also surviving are six nephews and nieces; eleven great-nephews and nieces; along with numerous great -great-nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at her daughter's home in Albuquerque, 8116 Avenida La Prestina NE.
