BEALMEAR -- Dorothy Mae Bealmear, 84, resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011. She is survived by her niece, Flora Harris and husband Mike; daughter-in-law, Ruth Banes; and bonus daughters Megan Davis and husband Jeff; and Suzanne Waite and husband Keith. Dorothy was preceded in death by her sons, Brian and David; her daughter Melinda; her husband Dale; and her brother, Ronnie DeRemer. Dorothy was born on September 13, 1926 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She enjoyed reading mysteries--especially Tony Hillerman and Margaret Coel, and was an avid sports fan. She worked in admissions at the University of New Mexico and received an Employee Recognition Award in 1983. She loved dogs, especially Bandita, Gypsy, Angelique, Elvira and Violet. A graveside celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd NE.
