RANEY -- Rene A. Raney, 53, passed away December 16,2010, following a short illness. At the time of her death, she was employed at Presbyterian Hospital NICU in Albuquerque and had served as a nurse in the Albuqeurque area for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents James J. and M. Jane Raney. She is survived by three brothers and their spouses, Kent (Jane) of Calsbad, Kevin (Susan) of San Clemente, CA and Sean (Susan) of Dallas, TX; she is also survived by several nephews and nieces, Jedd (Daria) of Kansas City, MO, Caitlin (Brandon Estes) of Calrsbad, Jacob of Dominica, West Indies, Kelly and Kristin of San Clemente, CA, and Alex and Patrick of Dallas, TX; and two great-nephews. Rene was a caring nurse who worked with neonates. She also loved and devoted much time to the care of animals, especially her beloved dogs and birds. Since Rene bequeathed her body to Science Care, cremation and interment will be held at a later date. Rene would ask that donations be made to her favorite cause, The ASPCA, or to the local humane society.
