SALAZ -- Abel Salaz, Jr., age 88, beloved and devoted father and grandfather, was called to his heavenly home by the Lord, Friday, December 3, 2010. Abel was a life long resident of Cuba, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eufelia Salaz; his daughter Marcelina Clayton; his parents, Abel, Sr. and Celestina; and all of his siblings. Abel is survived by his loving children, Camilla Ramsey and husband Charles, Reynaldo Salaz and Margie and Naomi Salaz-Jaramillo and husband Anthony; son-in-law Louis Clayton; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members. Abel was a man who genuinely loved people, he had a way of making everyone feel special, and was well loved by all in return. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Abel will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will take place on at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., also at the Church in Cuba, NM. Interment will follow at Cuba Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Ramsey, Shane Clayton, Marcos Salaz, Eli Salaz, Josiah Salaz and Brian Salaz. Honorary Bearers will be Nanna Rae Salaz, Monique Gallegos, Anita Salaz, Toni Jaramillo, Tineesha Salaz, Melquiades Salaz, Mickey Herrera, Mariano Salaz, Ryan Molina and John Martinez.
