WHITE -- Irene Adele (Williamson) White, born September 17, 1922; died November 13, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Eliot Joseph White and her older sister Grace Louise (Williamson) Gilbert. She leaves three sons; William Carlyle and wife Linda of Falls Church, Virginia; Robert Eliot and wife Trudy of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Ronald Richard and wife Judy of Denver, Colorado; a niece Alison Tyler and husband, Gary Luster of Littleton, Colorado. She has seven grandchildren: Andrew A. White and wife Kristin of Seattle, Washington; Margaret C. Campbell and husband Patrick of Vienna, Austria; Matthew C. White of Falls Church, Virginia; Emily A. White of Falls Church, Virginia; Kenton R. White of Denver, Colorado; Hayley M. White with U.S. Peace Corp in Bushenyi, Uganda, and Connor J. White of Boulder, Colorado. Two great- grandchildren Matilda and Cordelia White of Seattle, Washington. Her parents were local to Hanna and Laramie, Wyoming, and involved in local and state politics and businesses. Irene has been a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 1980, previously living in Laramie, Wyoming. For 28 years she and Eliot were communicants at Saint Paul's Episcopal Cathedral and active in many Laramie, Wyoming, civic organizations. After attending schools in Denver, Colorado, through the 10th grade, she completed high school by attending the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, New York. She obtained her BA degree in Music from Smith College in Massachusetts in 1944.During WWII, she worked in Washington, D.C., for the Army Signal Corp where she met and married her Navy husband Eliot. They eventually returned to Wyoming to work and raise their three sons. She was a member of Chapter AW of the PEO, Albuquerque; the Tamah Temple, Daughter's of the Nile, Rawlins, Wyoming; and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was active in numerous bridge groups and was especially interested in musical events including the local New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and opera performances. A memorial service will be held at the French ~ Wyoming Chapel on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 11:00 am., with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to either the NM Symphony Orchestra, PO Box 30208, Albuquerque, NM 87190-0208 or to The Intermountain Shriner's Hospital, Fairfax Road at Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84103-4399.
