BROGDON -- Irene Brogdon, 83, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010. She was born in Walnut Grove, Mo, on April 3, 1924. The family moved to Batesville, Arkansas when she was six years old. After her marriage to Cecil "Neal" Brogdon they moved to Albuquerque in 1961. Rene was an accomplished seamstress, artist, potter and gardener. She was widely known for the beautiful pottery and story teller jewelry that she made. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil "Neal" Brogdon in 2000. Rene is survived by her sons, Michael Brogdon and wife Kathi, and Mark Brogdon; she will be greatly missed by the grandchildren, she loved so much Jennifer Terrell and husband Brian, Aaron Brogdon and wife Adrienne, Sheena Hamilton and Case Brogdon; three great-grandchildren, Haley and Luke Terrell and Aiden Brogdon; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Marie Valdez, her caregiver, for the compassion, love and sense of humor she showed Irene over the last two years. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held in her honor.
