PADILLA -- Jennie B. Padilla, beloved wife of the late Esquipula Padilla Jr., her husband of 63 years, passed away on July 31, 2010 at the age of 79. Mrs. Padilla is survived by her children, Jerry Padilla Sr., Tony Padilla, Loretta Contreras and husband, Carlos, Henry Padilla and wife, Emily, Liz Contreras and husband, Juan, Richard Padilla and wife Patricia, Anna Wharton and husband, Alan, and Esquipula Padilla III and wife, Denise; 29 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Padilla was preceded in death by her daughters, Elizabeth Padilla and Frances Chavez; and her son, Robert (Bobby) Padilla. Our family has been touched by the love Jennie surrounded us all with. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten for the love and values she embedded in our hearts and will be carried on for generations to come. Visitation was held Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and the Holy Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Father Edmund Savilla, presider. Interment will follow at the Los Padillas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Padilla Sr., Tony Padilla, Richard Padilla Sr, Henry Padilla, Esquipula Padilla III, and Chris Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Geraldine Trujillo, Angela Sanchez, Frances Chavez, Erica Padilla, Veronica Gonzalez, Jennie Stewart, and Elysia Padilla.
