NEVELOS -- George J. "Papa" Nevelos was born September 8, 1931 in Plainville, Ct. He settled in Albuquerque in 1962. He married Sonja Kay Thorn on October 1, 1965. George worked as a truck driver and was also an ordained minister. He was a simple, hardworking man whose unwavering faith in God saw him through many tough times in his life. There wasn't a more generous and forthright man on this earth. George left us on August 1, 2010 and was preceded in death by his loving wife; and his son Brad. He is survived by his dear friend Eva Hobbs; best buddy Mike Grimalauskso; magnificent daughter Ava Caruso, her caring husband Tim, their children Jaylee, Kayla, and Mya; granddaughter Lori; his beloved dog Tiny; and countless extended family and friends. George's true friendship and wry sense of humor will be sorely missed. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Blake Road Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please do something nice for someone today. Love you, me too, mmmmm!
