ALVARADO -- Mary L. Alvarado, 78, resident of Albuquerque since 1973, passed away after a short illness on July 11, 2010. She is survived by her sons, Nick and wife, Betty, Greg and wife, Cheri, and David and wife, Marina; eight grandchildren: David, Adrienne, Lara, Adam, Michael, Chris, Luis and Eduardo; extended family members including Nick Lucero and family and Amelia Diego and family and friends through the military. She was preceded in death by her husband, TSGT George Alvarado USAF in 1983. Mary retired from Albuquerque TVI (now CNM) after many years of service. She was active in her community as a member of TOPS, volunteering with Kirtland AFB, an active member of the Red Hat Society, a local book club, a knitting group, and the Air Force Widows Club. She made many wonderful friends during her years with these organizations. Mary was a kind, outgoing, fun-loving person who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010, also at Our Lady of Fatima.
