GALLUCCIO -- Frances Galluccio, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, surrounded by her daughter, Sandy, her son in law, Bill, her grandson, Tim, friend Alicia and her loving caregivers and Hospice nurse and Hospice chaplain. She was born in Yarmouth, Maine on Christmas day in 1915. She is the daughter of the late Beatrice and Fred Carter. She lived in Maine until she went to nursing school in the Bronx, NY where she met her future husband, Joe. Through this loving union their daughter Sandra was born. The family moved to Coral Gables, FL. in 1952, and Frances lived in her beloved little home on Majorca Ave. for 47years. In 1999, Frances moved to Albuquerque, NM in order to be closer to her daughter's family. Frances was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Galluccio. She is survived by daughter Sandy O'Brien and her husband Bill, her grandson Tim and his wife Amanda of Albuquerque, and by Grandson A.J. and his wife Kelli, and their daughter, Samantha, of Castle Rock, CO. Frances loved being close to her daughter, son in law and grandsons and the many friends she had in Albuquerque. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a generous friend to all with her beautiful smile, blue eyes and everlasting spirit. Truly a beautiful woman who will be missed by all, friend or stranger. The family would like to thank the caregivers when she was at The Cottages, especially the aides and nurses. A Special thank you to Blanca and Humberto Gasson, their children, their doggies who slept with Gram, and the aides where she lived the last year and a half. Also Dr. Suzanne Pinon and the Hospice de la Luz team for their love and care for Frances and support for Sandy, Bill and family. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel with Father Charles Dougherty as the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
