BACA -- Joe Remijio Baca, 85, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 4, 2010. Mr. Baca is survived by his brothers, Joe G. Baca, and Evaristo Baca and wife, Carmen; his daughters, Mary Clara Dominguez and husband, Joe, Frances Lopez and husband, Fred, Bernadette Chavez and husband, Paul, and Denise Lopez and husband, Frank; his sons, Mike Baca and wife, Geraldine, Manuel Herrera and girlfriend, DeAnna Chavez, and Adrian Herrera Sr. and wife, Darlene; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family and friends. Mr. Baca was preceded in death by his wife, Cordelia Baca; his parents, Teofilo and Fredolina Baca; his son, Gilbert Baca; and his brother, Cipriano Baca. Mr. Baca was a member of the Catholic Church. BASHORE -- Carla Molley-Ann Bashore loving wife, mother, sister, cousin and friend passed away on June 23, 2010. She was born in New York City in 1945 to Eugenia Maria Armijo Maas ("Mama" Jean) and Tjebbe Wilem Maas. Her parents preceded her in death. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where her father was in business and where her mother became employed with the American Embassy. She began her early education at the Escola Americana in Rio de Janeiro, later attended the British School of Teresopolis, and graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rio. While in Brazil, she became an accomplished equestrian and continued that interest well into adulthood. Upon completing high school, she moved to Switzerland where she attended finishing school and then lived in Paris where she pursued her education and became a model for many years. On her many summer visits to visit with her maternal grandparents in Las Vegas, NM, the late Judge Luis E. Armijo and Eugenia Delgado Armijo, she attended summer classes at Highlands University. Carla was fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, French, German an her father's first language, Dutch. Upon returning from abroad, she resided in Alexandria, Virginia, where she worked for many years, putting to use her great talent for languages in that great cosmopolitan area of our country. Shortly after their marriage, she and Frank settled in Albuquerque and in 1982, she joined the staff of Dr. Julianne Lockwood, director of forensics in a program affiliated with the UNM Department of Psychiatry. She continued to work in the mental health area for many years and joined Dr. William Ulwelling as a member of his staff. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Colonel (Ret. US Army) Frank Bashore; children, Amy Bashore Canzoneri, George Bashore, Carrie Bashore Donovan, Hank Bashore and Frank Bashore; sister, Henriette Maas; and many cousins and first cousins for each of whom she held a special place in her heart, M. Christina Armijo, Roberto Armijo, Patricia Armijo Vigil, Luis Armijo, Francesca Armijo, Anita Armijo Naranjo, Adea Armijo, Jeannie Blattman, Thomas Armijo, Steven Armijo, Paul Armijo, John Armijo and Linda Blattman. She is survived by her special friends each of whose company she adored and who loved her, Rita Montoya, Juanita Huie, Julianne and Thomas Lockwood, Patsy Wolf, Vicky Koehler, Eva and Laszlo Gyongyosi, Lynn Martin and Elizabeth Castello and her friend, Michelle. her loving husband, Frank considered her to be the greatest chef, bar none and she was! Carla loved her dogs, especially her Irish Setter, " Bonnie". She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who survive her. Family and friends wish to express their very special and heartfelt appreciation to the chaplain and nurses at Heartland Hospice and to the nurses and staff of the Albuquerque Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and dignified compassion exhibited by each of them. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE ABQ, NM. BURRELL -- James L. Burrell, born June 24, 1952 in Carlsbad, NM passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 58. He is preceded in death by his father, James O. Burrell; daughters, April and Patricia Burrell; and grandson, Tyler Westbrook. He is survived by his wife, Billie Burrell; mother, Elaine and stepdad, Tom Gordon, of Idaho; siblings, Samuel, Donny, and Donna Kaye and their spouses of Idaho; children, Wendy and Amie and their spouses, of Farmington, NM; Amber and Donald and their spouses of Albuquerque, NM, Jacob and Libby of Albuquerque; 16 grandchildren; as well as uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other family and friends who loved and will miss him. CARMIGNANI -- Robert Carmignani, D.D.S. of Albuquerque passed away on July 1, 2010 after along illness. Robert was born in Gallup, NM on January 27, 1928. He graduated from Gallup High School in 1945 where he was an all-state end on Gallup's 1944 State Championship football team. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge he attended the University of New Mexico and majored in music. He then enrolled in Creighton University, graduating from the School of Dentistry in 957. Dr. Carmignani practiced dentistry in Albuquerque from 1957 to 2010, providing dental services for the UNM Athletic Dept. for 32 of those years. He loved music, sports, history, Halian culture, family and friends....and bad jokes. He is survived by his sons, Lawrence Thomas Carmignani of Seattle and Robert Lee Carmignani of Albuquerque; two granddaughters Lawren M. Camignani and Christen C. Pike, her husband John and their two sons, Jackson and Parker. The family wishes to express our gratitude to the staff and caregivers of the VA Hospital and to friends and relatives for their support during his decline. After cremation, internment will be in the family plot in Gallup, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veteran's Hospital of Albuquerque, NM.

CATES -- Ronald Eugene Cates, 66, a resident of Williamsburg passed away July 4, 2010, at his home. He was born in Portales, NM on May 8, 1944. He was preceded in death by his father Powell Cates; mother Helen (Wright) Daugherty; and brother Andrew Cates. He is survived by his special friend Shirley Beck James; his sisters, Vimmie Ray and her husband Dick of Pagosa Springs, CO, Donna Meskimen and her husband Tom of Montana; and his brothers, Marvin Cates and Joe Cates. His children: Mark Cates, Tina Jo Cates-Ortega and her husband Jonathan of Moriarty, NM, Scott Cates of San Antonio, TX, Shellie Dillon and her husband Paul of Edgewood, NM, Dino Cates and his wife Teri of Truth or Consequences, NM, Dee Dee Merrill of Dallas, GA, Tina Gayle Cates of Casa Grande, Arizona, Clinton Reames and his wife Christine, and Nicole Hayes of Farmington, NM; He has 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He served in the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Insulator and Allied Worker, Union Local 76, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3224, and the Moose Lodge. He spent his later years connecting with his children and enjoyed his grandchildren. (Papa) Ronnie was an ornery and loving grandpa and will be greatly missed. CHAFFEE -- Betty Ruth Chaffee, 82 years, of Albuquerque, NM, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2010 after a sudden illness. She was born January 25, 1928, the only child of Hayden Jack Davenport and Adelena Sanchez in the South Valley of Albuquerque, NM. She graduated from Albuquerque High School then attended the University of New Mexico where she met and married William E. Chaffee April of 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. She is survived by four children, two daughters, Ruth Gutierrez and husband, Charles of Jonesborough, TN, and Lena Shaffer of Albuquerque, NM; two sons, Richard Chaffee and wife, Virginia and Edward Chaffee and wife, Renee, both of Albuquerque, NM. She was the grandmother of 11 children, Tony, Lucas, Victor, Julia and Andrew Gutierrez of Jonesborough, TN, and Terista Davis, Brenda Shaffer, Athena Martinez, Krystle Chaffee, Karen Chaffee and De Ann Guerra of Albuquerque, NM. She was the great-grandmother of eight children, Logon Davis, Lyleeana Chaffee, Adam Chaffee, Joseph Martinez, Suprice Vialpando, Roston Dinkelman, Crista Guerra and Albert Guerra III all of Albuquerque and Skylar Paul of Limestone, TN. She was a founding member of The South Valley Neighborhood Church where she was music director since its founding. She loved the Lord and her church and made leading her family and others to the knowledge of the Lord her life's work. GALLUCCIO -- Frances Galluccio, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, surrounded by her daughter, Sandy, her son in law, Bill, her grandson, Tim, friend Alicia and her loving caregivers and Hospice nurse and Hospice chaplain. She was born in Yarmouth, Maine on Christmas day in 1915. She is the daughter of the late Beatrice and Fred Carter. She lived in Maine until she went to nursing school in the Bronx, NY where she met her future husband, Joe. Through this loving union their daughter Sandra was born. The family moved to Coral Gables, FL. in 1952, and Frances lived in her beloved little home on Majorca Ave. for 47years. In 1999, Frances moved to Albuquerque, NM in order to be closer to her daughter's family. Frances was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Galluccio. She is survived by daughter Sandy O'Brien and her husband Bill, her grandson Tim and his wife Amanda of Albuquerque, and by Grandson A.J. and his wife Kelli, and their daughter, Samantha, of Castle Rock, CO. Frances loved being close to her daughter, son in law and grandsons and the many friends she had in Albuquerque. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a generous friend to all with her beautiful smile, blue eyes and everlasting spirit. Truly a beautiful woman who will be missed by all, friend or stranger. The family would like to thank the caregivers when she was at The Cottages, especially the aides and nurses. A Special thank you to Blanca and Humberto Gasson, their children, their doggies who slept with Gram, and the aides where she lived the last year and a half. Also Dr. Suzanne Pinon and the Hospice de la Luz team for their love and care for Frances and support for Sandy, Bill and family. GARCIA -- Louella Roybal Garcia We lost the most beautiful person in the world on June 25, 2010. Born in Los Angeles, California on May 17, 1931 passed away from complications with six different forms of cancer. Raised in Pecos, New Mexico she was predeceased by her parents Manuel and Eloisa; husband Jose Trinidad; brother Manuel; daughter Judy; and grandson David, Jr. With great sadness, she leaves behind brothers, Reuben (Inez), Ralph, Michael (Debbie); and sister Louise Martinez; Her six children are left behind as well 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. We will miss her more than anything in this world. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Ghost Church 833 Arizona SE, Albuquerque, on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10.30 a.m. Interment will follow in Santa Fe alongside her husband. HENDRY -- Carl Hendry, 84, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010. He had been married to Gladys Simond Hendry 27 years and just couldn't live without his "rock and anchor". Disheartened after her death on June 6, 2010, his willpower and courage failed. Carl was born July 16, 1925 in Hazel Park, MI, son of George and Racheal A. McLure Hendry. He was an active, charter member of Sandia Presbyterian Church. JORGENSEN -- Justin Dane Jorgensen, 21, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on June 24, 2010 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 24, 1989 in Flagstaff, AZ.. He is survived by parents, Jeff and Tonya Griego; brothers, Jared and Jacob; his favorite aunt Shanna Jorgensen and uncle Bob Hoffman; aunt Carol Griego, grandmother Rita Griego, all of Albuquerque. His great-grandmother Betty Jorgensen of Portland, TX; grandparents Tom and Ruth Jorgensen, of Ft. Worth, TX; uncle Tom and aunt Pam Jorgensen, Centreville, VA; uncle Tom and Aunt Lisa Griego, Placitas, NM; uncle Anthony and aunt Rebecca Griego, Fountain, CO; uncle Bennie Griego, Oakland, CA; Justin also left behind a loving and caring girlfriend, Caitlin Overturf, Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carol Jorgensen of Bellville, TX; grandfather, Celestino Griego; and uncle George Griego both of Albuquerque. He also left behind numerous cousins and friends in the Albuquerque area. Justin enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding and rock climbing. He was a bright young man with a promising future. He recently attended the Arms of Love Fellowship in Rio Rancho and his parents know that he had made his peace with God. They are comforted that he is no longer in any pain. Memorial services were held at Arms of Love Fellowship, Rio Rancho, on Saturday, June 26, 2010.

MAEZ -- Luis "Louie" S. Maez, age 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010. He was born in Ignacio, CO and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. Louie enjoyed spending his past time fishing and he loved driving to Colorado to visit his sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Julianita Maez; two brothers, Ben Maez and Manuel Marquez; and his sister, Transita West;. Louie is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marie Maez; his children, Larry Maez and Martha Vasquez; and his grandson, Larry D. Maez. Also surviving are his brother, Bernie Maez; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended relatives; and his beloved dogs, Chulita and Tiny. Louie will be greatly missed by his loving family. MARTINO -- Michael Martino, D.C., age 46, beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010. Michael was born on August 28, 1963 in Westmoreland County, PA and was a resident in Albuquerque, NM. Michael was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Engineering as well as a graduate of the National College of Chiropractic in Lormbard, IL. He was the owner of Martino Chiropractic Offices in Bernalillo, NM. Michael was an avid fitness enthusiast and enjoyed all types of sports. He was a Certified Sports Trainer and volunteered at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado. Michael is survived by his loving mother, Mary Dolinar Martino of Asheville, NC; his father, Vincent Martino and wife Patricia of Jeanette, PA; his sister, Paula Martino and husband Robert Clementi; nieces Marina and Natalie Clementi; and nephew, Leo Clementi all of North Huntingdon, PA. He was loved by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and patients. Michael will be greatly missed by his loving family and those whose hearts he touched. Visitations will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary. Visitations will also be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Alameda Mortuary Chapel followed by Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. Interment is pending and will be announced. O'CALLAGHAN -- Teresa O'Callaghan was born on February 16, 1964 and died July 5, 2010 after a courageous battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Teresa loved her family, gardening, art and all things bright and beautiful. Most of all, she loved her husband of ten years, Steven; and her daughters Clare O'Callaghan and Katie MacDonald; her parents Dean and Ruth Eversmeyer; her siblings: Bruce Eversmeyer and wife Candice, Laura Wood and husband Benny, Deanne Eversmeyer, John Eversmeyer and wife Doris, Mari Parker and husband Marc, and Gregory Eversmeyer; her parents-in-law Arline and Phillip O'Callaghan; sister-in-law Melanie O'Callaghan; and many nieces and nephews. QUINTANA -- Willie Quintana, 55, was born in Tucumcari, NM on February 2, 1955; raised in San Francisco and a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Willie loved to go camping, hunting, fishing, sculpting, cooking, gardening and spending time with his family. Willie was a great father and enjoyed the challenges of building and repairing inside or outside the house. He loved his job at Tingley Coliseum and was an avid 49ers fan. Willie was very friendly, thoughtful, funny and was a compassionate and caring person. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cheryl; two children, Guillermo and Semona Quintana; siblings, Lizzy Quintana-Lamperti, Ronald Quintana, Donald Quintana, Yvonne Quintana, Leopold Quintana; and all of the Vigil in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Quintana; and his mother, Erma Ortiz Quintana. Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 8, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel. RAAB-FABER -- Gunther Raab-Faber, 75, passed away in his sleep July 4, 2010. He was born to Wilhelm and Lucie Raab-Faber in Wetzlar, Germany, September 2, 1934. Gunther immigrated to Canada in 1956 to work for the Ernst Leitz Camera Co. in Midland, Ontario, assembling Leica cameras, as he had in Germany. In 1963 he again immigrated, this time with his family, to the USA to work for Bausch and Lomb in Rochester, NY. From there the family came to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1973 where Gunther worked for CVI Laser Corp. as one of the key employees in their startup phase. He retired from CVI in 2003 after 30 years of service. Gunther is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Stephanie (Simmons) Raab-Faber. He is also survived by brother, Jurgen Benko and sister, Gudrun Eder of Austria; sister Anneliese Riemenschneider and brothers: Wilfried Raab-Faber and Siegfried Raab-Faber of Germany; his children: Richard Raab-Faber (Allison) and Jennifer (Tim Junker) of Albuquerque; grandsons: Gabriel, Daniel, Donovan, Archie and Isaiah, and his cat, Matchka, who loved him dearly. Gunther is also survived by the mother of his children, Mary Folson and her husband Dave. Gunther's many hobbies included traveling, photography, woodworking, cooking, Yoga and keeping in touch with friends around the world. A service of remembrance will be held in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler) on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 1:00 .m. SAIZ -- Fermin Saiz, 56, died July 6, 2010. SANDOVAL -- Juanita E. Sandoval of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on July 4, 2010. She was born in Lordsburg, NM, July 24, 1932, where she was fondly known as "sister". She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Cornelio Ozeta; by her husband, Juan M. Sandoval; and her brother, Valentine Silvas. From a young age, Juanita was always creative, resourceful and skillful with her hands. She made quilts, afghans, doilies and other crafts. She attended the New Mexico School for the Deaf where she excelled in art, home economics and sports. She could always light up a room with her smile and sense of humor. Juanita was a dedicated wife, mother and a loving grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Mike Sandoval and wife, Cindy, Sandra Sandoval and husband, Chris Nelson, Ronnie Sandoval and wife, Rosemary; granddaughters, Sara, Myra, Amelia, Marisa and Adrianna; two great-granddaughters, Abigail and Madeline; siblings, Barbara Guerrero, Josephine Chavez, Cressi De La Garza, Berna Arambula, Cornelio Ozeta Jr. and Frank Ozeta. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A celebration of Juanita' s life will be held at Daniel's Funeral Home, Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle NE at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010.

SANDOVAL -- Orlando A. Sandoval Aug 22, 1950 - July 5, 2010 Orlando Sandoval, age 59, lost his battle with cancer on July 5, 2010. He passed away at his home in Pioche, Nevada with his wife and his son by his side. He was born in Albuquerque New Mexico August 22, 1950. He graduated from Highland High School in 1968 and went on to serve as a army medic in Viet Nam. He and his wife Debbie married in 1979 and began their family and he launched his career in higher education at Northern New Mexico Community College. They moved to Las Vegas in 1985 to advance his career at Community College of Southern Nevada where he moved through the ranks until he became a Vice President. In 2000 he left CCSN to become one of the founding fathers of Nevada State College. He retired from Higher Education in 2002. He was an active member of the Las Vegas Community, serving on several State, County and City boards as well as serving one term as president of the Latin Chamber of Commerce. In 2008 he and his wife moved to Pioche Nevada where they opened the town's only grocery store, Miner's Market. With no previous grocery experience it was a true adventure for Orlando. Until his illness prevented him from working he was in the store daily, greeting customers, making friends, giving lollypops to children and running a cash register. He truly enjoyed the grocery store. His wife plans to honor Orlando by continuing to run the store they created together. Orlando loved his family, valued his friends, and lived life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife Debbie Sandoval; son Damian Sandoval; daughter Nicole and her husband Martin Mondragon; He was the proud grandpa of four grandchildren, Isabella, Lili, Martin Jr. and Orlando; mother and stepfather Pauline and Jay Pate; father and stepmother Jose and Rosa Sandoval; sister Patsi Faria; brother Michael Sandoval; stepbrothers, Richard, Anthony and Chris Para; as well as several nieces, nephews and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his younger sister Debbie Tudesque. A memorial service will be held in Albuquerque July 10, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 2400 Southern Blvd. S.E., Rio Rancho, New Mexico. TAFOYA -- Louis A Tafoya Sr., age 81, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2010. Louis was born to Soloman and Flora (Barela) Tafoya on February 12, 1929. Louis enjoyed golfing and was the owner of Jerri's Tavern. Louis was preceded in death by his daughter Flora Antoinette; both parents; two brothers, Solomon and Frankie; two sisters, Flora and Lilly. Louis is survived by five children: Fred Foster, Louis Garcia and wife Estefanita, Louis Tafoya Jr. and wife Mini, Ninon Tafoya and Robert Tafoya; 11 grandchildren, Lisa Foster Hunter and husband James, Rachel Foster, Marji Ramsey, Noel Reaves and husband Daniel, Kristy Vigil and husband Steven, Saundra Duran and husband Albert, Michelle Garcia, Louis Tafoya III and wife April, Michelle Tafoya , Danyol Garcia and Nikolaus Tafoya; 17 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Danielle, Katrina, Christopher, Antonio, Jacob, Allen, Savannah, Miguel, Jonathan, Alexis, Mikayla, Jason, Aaron, Victoria, Phillip and Layla; one great-great-granddaughter, Haley; one sister, Barbara Montoya; and former wife and life long friend Anne Tafoya.
