LOMBANA -- Sherry Anderson Lombana, 61, passed away on June 14, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Cesar; her children Jacqueline Bunkley and husband, Ken of Albuquerque, Sandra Lindquist and husband, Eric of New Orleans, and Philip Lombana of Denver; her grandchildren, Amanda and Christopher Bunkley; her sister, Kay Maize and husband, Steve of Albuquerque and their children Keirschen and Landon. Sherry was born in Clovis, NM and grew up in Albuquerque, graduating from Highland High School in 1967. She earned a BA degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma, and she then moved to Dallas and worked for the Society of Petroleum Engineers as a Communications and Public Relations Manager for four years. For the next fifteen years she ran her own public relations and advertising agency from home in order to spend time with her family members and their activities. From 1993 to 2008, she was a CRADA Analyst working for Sandia Labs. Sherry was a talented decorator and was often teased about having turned her home into a "folk art museum" with her many projects and collections. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Sherry will be remembered for her dedication to family, her faith and strength, her sense of humor, her pleasure in traveling, her love of New Mexico, and the enjoyment she found in celebrating holidays. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010, 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE with Rev. Dr. Mike Elliott officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Please visit our online guestbook for Sherry at: www.RememberTheirStory.com.
