SANCHEZ -- Maximo (Max) Sanchez, entered eternity at the age of 90 on Sunday, March 7, 2010, surrounded by his family. Mr. Sanchez leaves behind the love of his life, Peggy, whom he married in 1940; five children, Ramon Sanchez and wife, Genevieve, Marian Perez and husband, Frank, Mike Sanchez, Shirley Atwood and husband, Dave, Vera Liljestrand and husband, John; sister-in-law, Bernie Sanchez; sister, Fortunata Martinez and husband, Tony, brother, Rubert Sanchez and wife, Pearle; eleven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his parents, Juan de Dios Sanchez and Marina Madrid Sanchez; his brothers and sisters, Jerry, Cande, Aurora, and Jose Antonio, his nieces, Kate, Yolanda; nephew, Joseph. Max was raised in the Lyden, New Mexico area until 1975 when he and his wife moved to Albuquerque. He was the oldest living carpenter member of Local Union 1319 having completed 65 years as a member. Mr. Sanchez enjoyed fishing, watching the LA Dodgers on TV, jogging, crossword puzzles, and in his younger days playing the trumpet as member of a band. As he grew older he began to suffer from Parkinson's and life became difficult. He grew so tired and when Jesus offered him a better option he entered eternity having lived a full life. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 N. Plaza St. NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Los Hermanos de San Pedro, Morada de Chamita. Final visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. at the Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 a.m. with Father Denise Garcia presider. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Perez III, Russell Sanchez, Corey Sanchez, Bobby Kindig, David Kindig, and Dominic Kindig. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Liljestrand, Henry Jojola IV, Tony Martinez, Peter Sanchez, John David Salazar, Dion Sanchez, and Johnny Sanchez.
