WAID -- Carmen Baca Waid, age 83, a lifelong resident of Tome and Albuquerque, passed away gently and quietly on the morning of February 14, 2010. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic church for over 56 years. She retired as an APS cafeteria manager and was famous for her baking. Carmen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by everyone, especially the youngest of her great-grandchildren. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Earl C. Waid; parents, Antonio and Alicia Baca; and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Waid. She is survived by her sister; five brothers; and seven children, Earl C. Waid III and wife Patty, Eduvijen Mae Thomas and husband Steven, Joseph Waid and wife Becky, Daniel Waid and wife Frances, Rambert Waid and wife Lois, Catherine Martinez and husband Vincent, and John Waid and wife Donna. She was blessed with 25 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Friends may visit French, Lomas location; from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 with rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 with burial following at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
