DOMINGUEZ -- Eloisa M. Dominguez passed away peacefully on January 20, 2010 in Albuquerque N.M. She was born and spent most of her life in Las Vegas N.M. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and was married to Teodocio Montoya in 1938. Together they ran the 1st Street Grocery and raised two sons. Several years after the passing of Teodocio in 1962, Eloisa married her second husband Eloy Dominguez. Eloisa lived on 1st Street until 1997. She moved to Albuquerque shortly after Eloy's death. Eloisa was a talented artist whose works included painting, sewing and quilting among many other crafts. She has received several honors and awards for her art work and many of her pieces have been sold throughout New Mexico. She loved sharing her work with others and would generously give her quilts, paintings, and dolls to family and friends. Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents Avenicio and Julia Martinez; three children, Johnello, Johnny, and Dianne; two husbands, Teodocio Montoya and Eloy Dominguez; and three siblings, Alfonso Martinez, Charlie Martinez, and Lita Montez. She is survived by her two sons, Tody and Roy Montoya; and daughters-in-law, Kay and Ruthie Montoya. She has seven grandchildren, Tody Allen, Tammy, J.R., Jenifer, Chad, Michael, and Melody; Her great-grandchildren, include Amanda, Matthew, Sarah, Jacob, Shelby, Nathan, Allie, Ryan, Ariah, C.J., Gabrial, Noah and Emma. She is also survived by her brother, David Martinez of Albuquerque and her sister, Bertha Maestas of Denver CO. along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Funeral Mass for Eloisa will be held at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87112 (505) 298-7557 on Friday January 29, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow in the Parish Hall.
