JANSEN -- Charles "Chuck" L. Jansen passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2010 with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy. Chuck is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanice; two daughters, Lisa Paul and husband, Woody, and Sheila Hernandez and husband, Adam; one son, Craig; and three grandchildren, Bryan, Carolyn, and Johanna. He was born and raised in northern Minnesota. Chuck served in the Korean War. Upon returning to the states, he graduated from the University of Minnesota and married Jeanice. He and Jeanice moved to Albuquerque in 1957. Chuck joined Albuquerque National Bank and continued with the bank through the transitions to Sunwest/Boatmans/Nations Bank/Bank of America. He retired after 38 years of service as Senior Vice President of HR. Chuck was a people person who enjoyed volunteer work. He volunteered many hours at the Albuquerque Zoo, Bio Van, Albuquerque Aquarium, the Touch Pool, Tingley Beach, Heritage Farm and more. Chuck enjoyed music and played saxophone in the Shrine Band and the American Legion Band up until just recently. He was involved in his church, Sandia Presbyterian, in many different capacities. Chuck and Jeanice enjoyed traveling and had visited many countries. Family and friends were Chuck's greatest delight. Family asks that contributions may be made to Sandia Presbyterian Church. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010, 11:00 a.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte, Albuquerque, NM 87122.
