BURCHARD -- Ruth Alene Burchard passed into the loving arms of our Lord on January 16, 2010, at the age of 85. She was born in West Texas and later became a registered nurse after training in Galveston. In 1948 she married Frank Burchard and they were blessed with a loving life together for 61 years. From their ranch in Texas, they moved to Oklahoma where they raised their two children Jan and Ray. After retirement, they settled in Albuquerque. Besides her family, Ruth loved her church ministries, traveling and bird watching. She was known for her love of God and people, her gentle spirit and generous heart. Ruth is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Jan Cantrell; son Ray and wife Barbara; grandchildren Deborah, Tamara, and David; brother John Bayles; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at New Covenant Church, 7201 Paseo Del Norte NE. Visitation and viewing will be 1/2 hour prior to the service.
