BENEVENTO -- Samyeann Benevento, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010. A bright and shining star to all who knew her, Samyeann is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Louis M. Benevento, three daughters, Wende Calvert and her husband Richard of Albuquerque; Lisa Pumphrey and her husband Andrew of Minneapolis; Gina Boots and her husband James of Minneapolis; her beloved brother, Henry C. Jackson and his wife, Cindy of Morrison, Colorado and her beloved dog, Buffy Liz. Samyeann was the Director of Marketing and Physician Recruitment at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces. She has eight grandchildren: Austin Poper of Houston, Texas; Connor, Kate and Karsen Calvert of Albuquerque; Madison and Alexandra Boots of Minneapolis; and Ryan and Loryn Pumphrey of Minneapolis. She has left an unfillable void in the hearts of her family and friends who adore her. A celebration of her life will be held at Getz Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Bryan Hobden officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50; Memphis, Tennessee 38191-9929 in her name.
