C DE BACA -- Marie C. C de Baca. It was our mom's wish that in the event that she pass away, in another state, that she be returned to NM for burial. On December 27, 2009 the airliner carrying our mom, in her casket, began the landing process and taxied onto the runway, just as the New Mexico skies transitioned into a welcome home sunset for our mama. It was our mama's request to have a closed casket, as she wanted each of you to remember her they way you knew her. Mama also wanted simple services. The lavender floral arrangement was designed in WA, especially for our mama, to honor her February birth month. Our mama loved the scent of lavender and the arrangement was made to compliment the simple yet classic tailored wood casket, which also reflected our mom's taste and personality. Our mom was dressed in her favorite broomstick skirt and a dainty white embroidered blouse. A warm shawl that was in the shades of the NM earth, sky and sun was wrapped around our mom's shoulders for comfort. Thank you to all of our mama's friends that she was blessed with throughout different phases of her lifetime, who were able to attend her services. It was wonderful to have multiple generations of our mama's family in attendance and also the extended family. We appreciate each of you individually, for taking a time out from your busy lives, to come and pay your last respects to our mama and to support her in her transition to eternity. Thank you to those who participated in the services; Deacon Pilar Garcia, Anne C'de Baca, Celeste Miller, Orlando and Roberta Guzman, Boni Mascarena, Lorraine Romero, Cecilia Farris and the Smith Family. Thank you to Funeral Alternatives of WA and Gate of Heaven for your professionalism and care. - God be with you until we meet again. - Pam and Cecilia Condolences may be sent online to: www.funeralalternatives.org

MILLER -- Lela Mae Miller was born on June 19, 1916 and went to be with her Lord on December 16, 2009. Lela was born in Fargo, Texas (Wilbarger County) to Frederick Lovelace and Neppie Mae Richardson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Devine; and her husband of 55 years, Richard. Surviving is her son, Keith and his wife Rae; grand-children, Kelly Aragon and her husband Mayo, Maureen and her husband Ronnie, Daniel Murphy and Sean Devine; great-grand-children, Tyler, Emily, Isaac and Cameron. Lela was raised in the area around Vernon, Texas and graduated from High School in 1933. From there, she went into nurse's training and moved to Dallas, Texas. She received her Nursing degree from Parkland Hospital in Dallas and worked there until she enlisted in the Army in 1941. She served as an Army nurse through the remainder of World II serving in North Africa and throughout the Middle East. Finally, she came back to the United States and served in several military hospitals in New Mexico and Texas. After the war ended she was transferred to Panama and served there until she left the military achieving the rank of Captain. It was while she was in Panama that she met her future husband. They were married in Chicago in 1950 with the main decision being where they would live; either Chicago or Texas. So they decided on Albuquerque because she liked the name. While here Lela began working as a nurse for Bataan Memorial Hospital and then Lovelace Hospital through the early '60s. From there she moved to Presbyterian Hospital and worked, through her retirement in 1979. Through all of the earthly accomplishments though, the characteristic most important to her was her faith and devotion to Jesus Christ. Her happiest moments were spent with her brothers and sisters in Christ. Her joy was with those friends in the church. She wanted the way she lived her life to be her testimony for her devotion; and it was Lela will go to her final place of earthly rest on Friday, January 15, 2009, 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. "We miss my mom." Please visit our online guestbook for Lela at www.RememberTheirStory.com French 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE (505) 275-3500

Survived by many loving and admiring family members across the country, Viv and Jamie will be remembered for their fierce and endless love and support for each other. They were a model to their nieces and nephews of the enduring love between a husband and wife through 49 years of good times and bad and through ongoing health problems.
