KIMBREL -- Wesley E. Kimbrel, born in Okeene, Oklahoma, November 20, 1921 and died in Albuquerque December 3, 2009. He is survived by his wife Lois; daughters, Michele Griffin, Dawn Sterk and husband Kevin, Maurine Rice-Schroeder and husband Dennis; sons, Robert Rice and wife Jeanne, Charlie Rice and wife Sandy; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces Kathy Dillinger and husband Carl, Candy Paco and nephew Walter Thomson and wife Joan, two great-nieces; three great-nephews; brother-in-law C. P. Thomson, and other family members and friends. Mr. Kimbrel was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Olive Alexander Kimbrel, sisters, Elaine, Jeanne and a younger brother, Buddy. He served in the US Army during WW II, worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired from Sandia National Labs after 26 years. Mr. Kimbrel was a member of the Coast Guard Auxilliary. He enjoyed skeet shooting and won numerous awards for his marksmanship. Services will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas location with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday 4:00-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 7001 Menaul Blvd NE 87110.
