SMITH -- Duane Smith was born in Boise, Idaho, May 19, 1950. He died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 after a long battle with depression. Duane loved to play racquetball. He thoroughly enjoyed food, motorcycles and interesting and quirky people. Above all, Duane loved his family, He is survived by his loving daughter, Mary Nicole Smith of Albuquerque; his dear sister, June Cash and her husband Bob of Indianapolis, Indiana; former wife, Caroline Gupton of Albuquerque; niece, Deanna; nephew, Jay; pet, Jersey; as well as numerous other family and friends who loved and will miss him. A Memorial Gathering will take place in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. on Monday, November 9, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Animal Humane Association, 615 Virginia SE.
