COLP -- Martha W. Colp, 87, left this earth on September 20, 2009 to join her beloved mother and father, A.H. and Margaret Wiswell, her adored nephew Everett and numerous other relatives and friends. She is survived by the love of her life, John L. Colp, with whom she has shared almost all of her life. They were born on the same street in Carterville, IL and dad still remembers "the little girl on the blue bicycle." Married for nearly 68 years, Martha and John had three loving daughters who survive her: Carol Brown, Susan Rhoden and Jan Pendery who were all present, with their dad, at her death. Also surviving Martha is her older sister, Helen Williams; nine grandchildren; three nieces; and six great-grandchildren. Martha and John traveled the U.S. from one side to the other and top to bottom. They had visited 47 of the 50 states. They lived most of their life together in Albuquerque, NM and have spent the last ten years living with their middle daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike Rhoden, at their home on Possum Kingdom Lake, TX. Martha loved her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. Per her wishes, she has been cremated and the family will have a memorial service at the family plot in Carterville, IL at a later date.
