PAGE -- George Page, 88, a resident of Albuquerque and most recently of Rio Rancho, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009. George was born July 12, 1921 the son of George W. and Margaret Beamer Page in Roanoke, Virginia. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged September 10, 1945. He was assigned to the 3rd Tactical Control Group where he participated in the battles of Papua and New Guinea. He was awarded the "Distinguished Flying Cross", "Air Medal", and oak leaf cluster. He and his wife, Betty, were married in Maryland in 1962. They moved to Albuquerque, NM around 1970, where they opened their own TV repair business on Central Avenue. In 1990 they moved to Houston, TX where they lived until around 1999. But the Land of Enchantment beckoned them back. His wife Betty passed away in June 2001. George found a new passion, dancing and caring for others which he enjoyed until his passing. A man of good appetite, with thoughtful warm friends and a very strong love of young children, George will be missed. The Service for George will be held on Saturday October 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho.
