CASTILLO -- Mariano Castillo, 76, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lucia; his children, daughter, Anna Castillo, and sons, Michael Castillo and James Castillo; three grandchildren, Christina Castillo, Joshua Castillo, and Victoria Castillo, and his constant companion, his dog Sasha. Mariano was preceded in death by his parents. Mariano proudly served, and retired from the United States Air Force. His time in the military gave him and his family an appreciation of travel. They had the opportunity to live in many places including Spain and Washington State. Following his military service Mariano went on to retire from the US Postal service. Mariano loved to watch old movies, especially war and western movies. He will always be remembered for his war stories. Rosary will be recited on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., with viewing to begin at 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas location, with funeral service taking place on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., also at French Mortuary, Lomas location.
