BEDINGFIELD -- Lourean Laura Bedingfield, 92, passed away into the loving arms of the Lord on September 10, 2009. Known to friends and family as Lou, she will be especially remembered for her devotion to her family and friends. She never met a stranger, was cheerful and accepting to everyone she knew and met, and spread joy throughout her surroundings. A long time resident of Farmington and Albuquerque, she worked for 45 years in women's retail apparel. After retirement, Lou enjoyed traveling, cooking, canning, entertaining and being with her granddaughters. A long time Baptist, Lou attended Emmanual Baptist Church in Farmington, NM and Fellowship Baptist Church in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Fannie Geist and Everett Walborn on September 26, 1917 in Enid, OK where she graduated from Enid High School. She was introduced to her future husband Edward Hugh Bedingfield by her older brother Harold Walborn. She married Ed on March 30, 1940 in Enid, gave birth to their first daughter Lou Anne on December 27, 1941, and resided there with Lou Anne while Ed served in World War II overseas. They relocated to Albuquerque in 1948. While in Albuquerque, Lou gave birth to their second daughter Ellen on September 19, 1950. The family then moved to Farmington, NM in 1952. Lou gave birth to their son Hugh on August 11, 1960 in Farmington. The family relocated several more times between Albuquerque, Farmington and Lone Grove, OK, with their final move back to Albuquerque in 1991. Lou is survived by two daughters Lou Anne Hampton and Ellen Voisin and husband Russell, all of Albuquerque ; a son Edward Hugh Bedingfield II and wife Pamela of Dallas, TX; two granddaughters Paige Swetnam and husband Jerod of Graham, TX and Lauren of the family home. Lou was preceded in death by her husband Ed of 64 years, her parents, three brothers Harold, E. D., and Bob, and son-in-law Glen Hampton. A celebration of Lou's life will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at French-Lomas Chapel. Friends may visit on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 7-9:00 p.m. at French. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Albuquerque.
