MCDERMOTT -- Robert F. McDermott Lt. Col (Ret), 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1997, died Friday, August 14, 2009. he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret G.; son Joseph McDermott and daughter-in-law Diane Wandmaker from Albuquerque; granddaughter Lauren P. McDermott; sister Catherine Elizabeth Collins of New Haven, Ct. and numerous nieces,nephews and their children. Robert was a decorated veteran of World War II, and enjoyed a 25 year career in the US Army. He was a 16 year associate administrator for The Small Business Administration. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, and a popular member of John XXIII Catholic Community. A funeral Mass will take place at JohnXXIII Wednesday August 19th at 10am, with Fr. Charles Dougherty Celebrant. Interment will be at a later date.
