JONES -- Larry DeWayne Jones A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Larry D. Jones, 73, of Pflugerville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Pflugerville, TX. Born February 24, 1936, in Oklahoma and raised in Belen, NM, Larry married Doralea Middleton on February 1, 1958. They had three daughters, Kelley, Jacqueline (Jacque), and Leslie. Larry worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for more than 40 years. He worked as a call boy, brakeman, conductor, trainmaster, and retired as an assistant superintendent. His career took him to Gallup, NM, Redlands, CA, Barstow, CA, Needles, CA, and La Junta, CO. In 1994, Larry and Dori retired and moved to Pflugerville to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Larry's family and friends were important to him and he kept in touch with many friends from over the years. His grandchildren brought him great joy and he was dedicated to them, their educations, and their interests. He enjoyed every minute he spent watching and helping them grow into the remarkable human beings they have and will become. Jones is survived by his wife of more than 52 years, Doralea; two daughters and their families, Kelley Jones King and her spouse Eddie, and their two children, Michelle and Laurenm Jacque Waddle and her spouse David, and their children, Larry, Audrey, and Janie; a sister, Rosemary and Kenneth Trinkle; and a brother, Dr. Jerry and Geri Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
